Step 11Showing live video

Using a Perl script and a few modules makes it quite easy to show quasi live video on X11 systems. It was coded on linux and may work on MACs as well.

It works like this:

- get the mouse cursor position
- capture a box of NxN pixel centered at the cursor
- scale the image to 8x8 pixel
- send it to the LED board
- repeat
