This is a circuit used to convert a voltage range of 7.5-16v to 6v 1A output this circuit consist of 7806 regulator IC and few capacitors the circuit is simple and easy to make and can be used as a bread board powersupply and for charging 6v batteries and lots of other purposes

Step 1: Parts

1         1 x 7806 IC

2         2 x 470 uf (electrolytic capacitor)

3         1 x small piece of common circuit board


Step 2: Circuit Diagram

make the ciruit according to the circuit diagram provided and use an aluminium plate as a heatsink to the IC or else the IC will get overheated and damaged

Step 3: Conclusion

use this circuit according to the purpose you need and dont forget to add the heatsink.. to IC

<p>The IC becomes too hot without heatsink. and IC may get damaged due to overheating of IC</p>
discharge of output capacitor when switch off, couse regulator fal, see datasheet.
Add a protection diode?
