Introduction: 8bit Lovers

About: "End of line..."
Hand Cannon Crossed Lovers:

Homage paid to my 2 top 8bit hero's Samus and Mega Man!  These two were destined to fall head over heels in love as they both fight for freedom against tyranny and have upgrade-able arm attachments that go pew pew!  My depiction in the model is that of when they first meet each other and quickly draw arms against one another; after gazing into each-others eyes/face shield they find an inner peace that they each have been longing for.  They quickly get a cheap apartment that is equal distances from Dr. Light's lab and K-2L; their love endures all hardships even with the rigors of space bounty hunting and the constant onslaught of Dr. Wily's super robots.

Now you can have these 8bit Lovers directly on your desktop and for good reason to boot!  They are part of a 10 piece envelope/mail holder kit that you can easily print on any 3D printer and color in with markers/paint!  This model is sure to get noticed by any legacy gamer and even current gamers as these characters were designed to endure!

The "8bit Lovers" have been designed to print on small build platforms so any home printer should have success printing.  The placement of the parts in the stl files attached produce all parts with less than perfect printer/slicer settings.  Check my uploaded images for details on how the model is built.

You can grab my 3D model here: http://www.123dapp.com/123D-3D-Model/8bit-Lovers/664976 and use the free 123D app by Autodesk here: http://www.123dapp.com/123d to mod if you like and then export to your preferred format for 3D printing; here is a sample workflow I have used  at home designing and printing with great results: https://www.instructables.com/id/Basic-workflow-for-3D-design-in-Sketchup-and-3D-pr/

I also uploaded my finalized stl's for direct use on your 3D printer.  Use those if you don't care to mod my design and simply want to slice and start printing.

Instructions:
  1. Print all 10 pieces
  2. Snap Samus into her dock
  3. Snap Mega Man into his dock
  4. Snap the heart base into the rear of both docks
  5. Insert both heart base wedges into top of heart base
  6. Insert top heart wedge into left heart
  7. Snap left heart into right heart
  8. Snap heart halves into heart base
  9. Grab some markers/paint and get to coloring
  10. Place model on desk
  11. Flop some mail/envelops into center cavity
  12. Wait to be asked how you got so stinking cool!

I really need to snag some ultra-fine tipped markers to get into the deep pixels better or at all on Mega Man...
