Step 1: Gather Materials

Materials:
Wire Stripper(or Needle-Nose Pliers)
Tape
9-Volt Battery
Punch(For starting the metal off)
I use the wire stripper/cutter because it is easier to use for the metal.

You could leave three sides unopened, and fully open one of the short sides...using wire cutters, cut off the part of the short side you uncrimped and is bent up...also cut about 1/16" down and across as well. This way, the "lid" will slide in and out like sliding glass doors. The reason I say this is because it will look much nicer, be easier to use, and you won't be left with a damaged looking battery. thats because yours was not an energizer cell... only energizer use AAAA cells in their battery, everyone else uses what you have in yours...

no. any 9-volt battery will work just fine, ive used others before too becuase i made my sis one from an off brand walgreens one. only aa,aaa,and lithium battery have chemical inside themselves.

the one and only problem with this is, when someone does find the "battery" and they check to see if it has any juice in it with a charge checker thing, they might throw it away...other than that, well dont, very clever

you do bring up a good point and im not trying to get on your case or anything but i was just gonna point out that the the little bend marks and scrapes would look fishy, unless you managed to to it nice and clean...also a spring-loaded tester would punch the top right in...i know im getting all technical lol just thinkin' out loud. good point though!

OUCH! i can sure relate to that! ive been doing elecrtical projects all week lol. my latest trick that i learned from the instructable portable soldering kit is using a lighter!!! it works like a dream for working in tight spots on cars and boats. i picked up a torch lighter yesterday which works great too!

yeah thanks for the tip when i first started with the lighter i'd seen people wrap solder around the wire in a spiral and then heat it all. they seemed to do it fine in the videos but i tried it and the solder just balled up and fell off. i'm assuming it's because the wire was too cold. i've been trying the more tradtional style like with my soldering iron which works better it's just harder in tight areas

what you do is wrap the wires together then heat them up with light then while its still hot place solder so remember watever you do dont burn solder it gives off alot more smoke than heat does

Just a friendly FYI: there is NO DANGER of shock with a 9v battery unless your skull happens to be open and brain exposed, in which case you probably have more pressing concerns. Nifty project, though!

Just to let you know, to get good up-close pictures, most cameras (even "el cheapo" ones) have a "macro" button. Find yours and these pictures will be much better. That's trying to be constructive criticism, don't take it the wrong way.

That's the label for the macro button, it's usually either a switch on the side of the camera, or its one of the settings on the dial on the top (on nicer cameras).

Though, after taking a look at your instructable again, it looks like you may have found it.
