9 volt secret taser

9 volt secret taser
First off, i know conrad2468 made a similar one(hint hint "similar").
His uses only 9 volts, mine uses 330v or close to it. and my whole approch to it is differnt
last but not least i must thank rwilsford07 for the charger plans.

Well here it is a small secret taser!

Supplies
What you need
1. (1) 9volt battery
2. (1) disposable camera
3. (1) capacitor charger (made from camera). go to rwilsford07's coil gun instructable and its in there. there are instructions for a simpler one later on.
4. (1) AA battery and battery holder
5. (1) 9volt battery holder
6. (1) switch
7. soldering iron and solder, needle nose pliers, electrical tape,
and wire
the 9volt battery holder, AA battery holder and switch can be found at radio shack.

its propibly a god idea to add a switch to turn it off so you can put it away and turn it back on to 'arm' it

What!?

Wow your friend is stupid. 9VDC does nothing unless hes going to shock a slug...

Or if he plans on zapping his tongue.

i once accidentally shocked myself , using a ceiling fan capacitor, it was awesome. also my power source was home power outlets in india.
Aug 15, 2010. 8:43 PMDilong_paradoxus says:
It's using a camera flash capacitor stuck into a 9V battery case. The capacitor stores a very large amount of energy... ...and besides, 9V isn't even enough to injure a slug. Try ants. :D
Aug 15, 2010. 11:25 PMhyudryu says:
But slugs have mucus around them which probably contains salt or other electrolytes which will lower resistance, causing more current to pass through its body generating heat to burn the slug. besides the capacitor is only about 120 uF I got shocked by a capacitor bank of 750 uF before charged at around 300-330V and it hurts like crazy. I once saw an answer on yahoo answers that actually got voted best answer and i got soo pissed. question: How can i make a taser not from a camera answer: Easy just take a AA battery, and tape 2 wires from it. Be careful not to touch the wires or you will be shocked. I was like WTF First of all you solder not tape and second of all the person is not a single celled organism. 1.5V wont do shit to him. so i reported that guy and gave him a thumbs down.

1.5 Volts can do a very large amount of damage-look up ultra capacitors. batteries, even though they have a very large amount of energy stored in them, cannot do much damage because they have what is called internal resistance, making it impossible to for them to transfer many amperes of power at a time. But, with the right supplies, (such as an ultra capacitor) 1.5 volts can melt metal.

An Ampere is a measure of current, not power. You mean Watts.
May 29, 2011. 11:06 PMJ-Ri says:
1.5 volts does nothing to a human, it has nothing to do with the internal resistance of the source. Look at a car battery for example. 12.6 volts at full charge, the average one is capable of putting out 600 amps and staying above 10 volts while doing it, larger ones in light duty trucks and SUVs can put out over 1,000 amps. They will melt a wrench (I'm told), because the wrench has almost no resistance. It's primarily the amperage that makes the metal hot.

We humans have internal resistance too, IIRC mine was about 600,000 ohms gripping the leads as tight as I could. Using ohms law, that's .000021 amps, and trust me, you don't feel that!

Slugs naturally have salt on their skin???? Wouldn't that like hurt them or something?
Dec 26, 2010. 8:56 AMDilong_paradoxus says:
No, because it's incorporated into them. Table salt in large quantities placed on a slug puts the salt were the slug's body doesn't want it, in a form it doesn't like.
Aug 18, 2010. 9:18 PMDilong_paradoxus says:
An AA? Brilliant. :D Lower resistance lowers heat, so it wouldn't do much.

i've kinda demolished the 9v battery to get to the inside, haha, well uh, what would i do if i just have this rubbery thing with i'm guessing AAAA batteries? i've shocked myself like 9 times with it so far
Oct 16, 2009. 11:28 PMwangtrevor says:
wait, isnt the insides of a battery alkanine and isnt it poisonous?
May 4, 2011. 10:15 AM-max- says:
yes, you get 6 batterys that are even smaller then AAA batterys. there called AAAA (um, AA, AAA, AAAA!)
Oct 22, 2009. 12:25 PMColonel88 says:
Only the Energizer brand batteries have AAAA batteries (REALLY small)
May 4, 2011. 10:16 AM-max- says:
ang duracell too. i know for a fact because a actualy took one apart.
Oct 16, 2010. 2:55 PMaccount3r2 says:
23a are much smaller (i think) and have more volts
Oct 18, 2009. 12:45 PMcodongolev says:
not 9 volt ones. they've got little AAA sized batteries ( they're a little smaller, but they work) inside.
May 4, 2011. 10:17 AM-max- says:
there called AAAA batterys
May 5, 2011. 4:00 PMcodongolev says:
Yeah, they're called AAAA batteries. I didn't know it at the time. now I do. :)

Feb 19, 2010. 1:50 PMkagflab says:
ok....to make the charger you put in the leads of both the 9V connector and the AA conector into the capacitor holes. you can also add in a button (i diidnt but reccomend it)

yes it can actually take it from me ive held it in place until i fel;t burning and sure enough the skin turned white

i no ueed a capacitor but can u get it from somthing diffrent apart from a disposable cam. i mean its not hard 4 me to go out and get a dissposable cam but is there anything else that i could rip it out of something maybe lying round the house? I.E old stereo, old walkman radio,
