Click Save as on the screen and delete the .txt and put .bat and save it as whatever you want. I originally saved it as Open Fie, then I changed it to I dare you to open this. Oh, and save it to the desktop.

Step 4: You're Done!!!

Congradjulations, you just created your very first virus! It should look like something below in the photo. Remember, this is for educational purposes only, and should never be used on someone with malicious intention.

This is not a virus it just opens CMD loads of times

short-genuis (author)jammmie9992009-06-03

yeah, but some people who are not gifted in computers will think it's a virus.

Awesome answer man.

I am a 13y/o and used this to make my computer teacher crap her pants.

hey short-genius:is there a way to e-mail this?

TyffH (author)like2lern2017-06-20

Yes. Just add it as a zip file and most e-mail services won't notice

dllhacker (author)2010-01-19

you can also add a <msg * ___> under the starts to add a message that pops up.

VirusMaker2017 (author)dllhacker2017-02-26

dllhacker better start w/

@echo off

echo (message)

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! My first virus----but one question: What does the .bat mean. (I'm very new at this kind of thing)

VirusMaker2017 (author)like2lern2017-02-26

Like2lern batch

DeanR54 (author)2017-01-28

.bat stands for batch file, it is a series of commands executed through command prompt, not a virus. However this can cause damage to the computer's cpu if you don't have a good cpu fan or heat sinks you could crash you computer, which also could lead to your computer dying. It's ok to do it a couple of times, just don't do it 100 times.

Grey3 (author)2016-12-29

For an infininte series of windows, just do:

:1

start

goto:1

KingRyt (author)2014-07-14

hi scott, not a virus

Millawi Legend (author)2010-04-09

We do this a school.

TyMan210 (author)2010-01-17

How many times should it open?

short-genuis (author)TyMan2102010-01-17

Every-time you type a "start" , it opens up a CMD window. So if you put 10 "start", it would open up 10 windows.

TyMan210 (author)short-genuis2010-01-18

 Okay, that's what I thought.

octavian234 (author)2009-08-25

this is not a virus this is just a batch code thats annoying. Not to be "that guy" but i would consider renaming your instructable

ErezYehuda (author)2009-08-14

In step 3, you censored your name, but neglected to do so in step 4. Just a heads-up.
