Introduction: Adding Sleeves and Hood to Denim Jacket

Make your denim jacket look fresh on the cheap! We will walk you through the process of adding hoodie sleeves and hood onto a denim jacket!

Step 1: Supply List

-Or you can check your local thrift store for a hoodie and denim jacket.

Step 3: Taking Off Jacket Sleeves

First start by de-threading the sleeves on the denim jacket.

Step 4: Hoodie Sleeves

Cut off the sleeves from your hoodie. If you do not have a hoodie you can always make these sleeves out of sweatshirt fleece.

Step 5: Hoodie Hood

Cut off the hood from your hoodie or your can make one from scratch.

Step 6: Adding Sleeve to Jacket

Turn you jacket and sleeve inside out and put the right sides together. You might have narrow the sleeves to make them fit into the denim jacket holes.

Step 7: Sew the Sleeves Onto the Jacket

You can sew the sleeves on with a straight stitch or zigzag. Repeat this step for both arms.

Step 8: Finish the Doodie Edge

Turn the bottom edges together and sew across with a top stitch. This will make for a clean edge.

Step 9: Sew Hood Onto Jacket Collar

Sew the hood onto the jacket collar. You may have to add a pleat to the center of the hood to make up for the length of the hood.
