Against global warming

Picture of Against global warming
I am something worried by the global warming, and I try to make the little thing that it is within my reach to avoid it, or at least not to contribute to increase it.

One of the human attitudes that increase the problem is the waste economy. I know that my behavior won't change the course of the history, but I trust in that there are millions as me distributed by the planet. Surely not in the countries of the this way called "first world" that they spend millions of tons of valuable resources per second without true necessity, but yes in Latin America, África and other places not so "developed".

Step 1: A grain of sand in the desert

Picture of A grain of sand in the desert
Among the countless ways of avoiding the waste, today I present you a way to take advantage of the deodorant until the last drop.

I use roll deodorant because it is more economic, I like it more than spray, it is more portable and it works better. If I use it "usually" until it ends, it is always in the bottom a quantity that I have checked that it is good more for three or four days. That which is not anything worthless.

Step 2: A way to diminish the problem

Picture of A way to diminish the problem
It happens that the deodorant is not liquid, it is a slight cream. Then it flows very slowly.

To avoid that the deodorant is seated in the inferior part of the container, the solution is obvious: to turn it. As the one that I use it has rounded cover, I stuck him with tape a cover of soda to be able to put it "paws it up".

Step 3: Finally:

Picture of Finally:
When, in spite of my desperate efforts, it doesn't leave a tiny piece more...

...SURGERY!!

I cut with a knife the neck of the container, and with one finger I take out what is in the interior.

As it reaches for about three days, meanwhile I maintain it closed in normal position (not turned).

I need you say more. I don't understand, I live in Argentina and I don't speak English.
I will do my best...
Que es calor globo.
I am not very good. I did not know you were from Argentina. Sorry.

If we tackle the underlying assumption here then we can make even greater savings. That is that we need to use deodorant (this is different than antiperspirant) at all. The smell comes from decomposing bacteria. Just make sure that you get the day's remains off by vigorous scrubbing and you will find that the next day's underarm fragrance is benign. I haven't used deodorant for 10 years after I was told this. And no-one notices.

Oh, that is awesome, I didn't knok it. Thanks, I will try it. With regard to the instructable itself, you may have noticed that it is only a warning to those who wasted no sense. Say, an excuse to say it. I believe that all humanity is making improper use of resources, beyond whether or not that the cause of global warming, which can be discussed for a long time.

knok=know, pardon. If you don't understand some words, think I speak Spanish, please.

just don't expect the media to change anytime soon either: 1) Media continues to downsize and reduce its pay scale (far below that of a meteorologist's salary,) and 2) A meteorologist would seek a balanced story and not agree to a sensational headline written by an activist editor. Our climate does change -- always has and always will, but we little humans in westernized cultures only live on average of 75 years and not all of that time is dedicated to observing and disseminating data. So, the best solution for now is to question those who believe in the theory of global warming, beginning with your hometown newsroom. There is no better example of inept reporting than a recent article by LiveScience on the encroaching tree line across Canada's arctic tundra.
yep u people need to stop watchin tv

Thanks for giving me counsels to live.

I don't know that YOU need. Perhaps would agree you to think a little more in this matter, and to become aware of its gravity.
Pfff.
Global warming has been around since the dawn of time, It's natural
can't you hippies leave nature to the polluters, by the time global warming actually gets a DANGEROUS situation, the world will be gone (Aprox 1.2-2.3 Million years)
rimar2000 (author)  Thundertydus4 years ago
Thanks for the "hippie" compliment.
Rage more, If this was true, it would have happened already. PLUS:

Pumpkin$, sorry but I don't understand you. Consider I speak Spanish, not English. On line translators they are, obviously, limited.
Apologies, It was recently investigated (and found to be true) that figures for temperature change were false. The "Data" was false, biased, and altered to benefit a political agenda. What Agenda, or plan, appears to be either a distraction for the public, or simply another way for the government to control people, World Wide.

By the way, a couple things didn't make sense to me:

We were using "Green Light bulbs" to cut down on emissions. L.E.Ds are, and will always be more efficient.

The process for the creation of a hybrid car causes more damage than a diesel fueled truck. The battery's byproducts are extremely hazardous to the enviroment.

This is not an excuse for people, organizations, or the government to be wasteful, but it's wrong to deceive the common man for his absolute loyalty to a cause.

God Bless America, The Blood of my Brothers and Fathers, and the world in it's advance for peace and prosperity.

It's likely you're right. One never know where one stand, because whose "cut the potato" always lie ruthlessly.

Anyway, a wise and conservative use of the resources need not be a burden to anyone.
i actually was joking but i don't watch tv.

it's so funny how the masses have been sucked into the liberal media! I think, a while back on the news someone mentioned GREENLAND(a giant hunk of ice) was melting. I mean can you be that surprised? the whole thing is just a natural cycle. this is just gonna be another repetitive step in the developement of the earth. I'm sorry that half the world has been misled:(
lol you know whats so funny? ignorance. and how it seems to reek havoc on the masses, despite the abundance of knowledge there is out there. do your research, and im not talking about watching fox news, google is your friend. you cant possibly deny the fact that we are doing damage to our environment, and im not going to explain it all in this box. if you want to be a civilized human that live in our society, do yourself a favor and learn, if not, we can only hope your not a majority in the US
YES!!! Thank you! It's a cycle, and Al Gore is full of crap.
If so, why didnt it melt thousands of years ago..?
... What did I say about being stupid?
rimar2000 (author)  xACIDITYx5 years ago
You have not said anything about yourself.
It was a joke, because he was making a pretty unintelligent comment.
rimar2000 (author)  xACIDITYx5 years ago
Pardon Skate6566, your comment appeared under mine, therefore I interpreted that it went directed to me.
Oh, sorry. Nope, nothing against you.
Truly, the Earth is billions of years old. Wouldnt this have happenned already?
Indeed The Earth is quite old, and it has been through this many times. The global temperature soars, and then it falls. The earth will survive, life will adapt. Even if humans are causing a large portion of Global Warming it does not matter. I am all for doing what we can to protect our home and keep it clean, but even if Humans never used fossil fuels, light a single fire, or passes gas. This would still happen. It is inevitable. We can only hope that we all survive long enough to stop waring over resources and find a way to colonize the stars. Which of course brings its own ethical issues.
Thank you Spock your the federation's finest XD

and yes it's a cycle

rimar2000 (author)  Pumpkin$5 years ago
Pardon, I don't speak English, I don't understand your comment (the first part). But you say "and yes it's a cycle" without any doubt, without possible appeal. I envy your security, Pumpkin. Or perhaps I would should to say "irresponsibility"?
I was agreeing with strumbot
rimar2000 (author)  strumbot5 years ago
Yes, I agree with you. I eat meat, but I don't kill neither cows nor chickens without necessity. Although the global warming-up was not a fault of the human beings, that does not change the fact that we should be a little more respectful with the nature. I do not say that we leave us to sting for the insects for not damage them, I say simply that we take care of what there is.
rimar2000 (author)  Klaus Baude 1235 years ago
It's easiest to ignore the problem. And It's more comfortable, too. Especially if one it is part of the problem, and the solution would imply to change conducts and/or habits.
wipecarbon6 years ago
Global warming is far a bigger threat to humans than terrorism is. Most people might not look at global warming as a big threat because it is abstract to them, than terrorism. Humans can try to win a fight against terrorism, but it is absolutely absurd to fight against the force of nature. Wipecarbon campaign kick start a million pledges from all of us to reduce the emission of carbon as well as reduce the side effects of global warming. Make a difference , Make a Pledge. www.wipecarbon.com
Global waring is what we humans call seasons. But till now we couldn't exactly keep tabs on parts of the world like Alaska. And it cost more cool to make an gallon of ethanol that will be and equal ratio to a gallon of gas AND simply wiping all carbon (BTW the whole world is carbon based) and terrorism is a bigger threat because it is something that we can do something about and that kills people not icecaps.
rimar2000 (author)  Coffee bean6 years ago
I am 63 years old, and I can speak you about before and now with respect to the global warming-up.

The hurricanes, the floods and the droughts (that always there were them, but now there are more) also kill people, and many more than the ones that kills the terrorism. Or is not thus?
While i respect your age and what you have seen in your life time, 63 years is not nearly enough time to gather personal evidence. Now if you were close to 55 Million years old then I could take you seriously. Yes the earth oceans are getting warmer, but that has happened before. 55 million years ago saw a significant warming trend that allowed the expansion of our primate ancestors. Global warming is a natural trend and and attempting to delay is trying to fundamentally control natural selection.
rimar2000 (author)  strumbot5 years ago
Cut&Paste of another mine comment: Although the global warming-up was not a fault of the human beings, that does not change the fact that we should be a little more respectful with the nature. I do not say that we leave us to sting for the insects for not damage them, I say simply that we take care of what there is. You say "Global warming is a natural trend...". ¿Do you know it with certainty, or it is a capricious affirmation?
I agree there is a need to be conscientious of our impact. "Do you know it with certainty, or it is a capricious affirmation? " I would say with relative certainty. The geological and anthropological evidence is hardly surreptitious.
I don't is? it let see some facts on natural events vs and war to ever happen.
global warming is not an organism thriving on hate and fear.... right? it also does'nt shoot at people that refuse to abandon their religion and join it's
