Infantry Support Gunner Guide

Infantry Support Gunner Guide

An Infantry Support Gunner is a unit consisting of one or two people. Their mission is to support their team's attacking infantry with heavy gun fire from a covered-up position, like behind rocks or from inside foxholes. They fire at defenders in enemy positions or counter-attacking enemy troops. They need heavy guns, like Electric Classic Army M249, Hobbytron.com, .12gram or .20gram (it's under the gunner area, get to it by clicking on the airsoft button). Look for a gun you can deploy a bipod or tripod on, and for a good one, get one that has a ammunition box.
Your job: When the infantry is moving, your firing at the enemy from a protected area.

Step 1Training

Training
In my team, Infantry Support Gunners are also called Heavy Weapons Speacilists. We're Mil-Sil, so we make it realistic as possible. So, we train our units. I.S.G.s go through a brutal training course. First, eight groups of tires are laid down on the ground. First Picture shows how to place them.
The troops have to set both feet down into the first tires, then make their way to the end. Their feet always need to be in the tire all the way to the end, then run in S-like shapes back. Sitting to the side, you have a four-foor wide by eleven foot long by at least 8-inch deep hole, filled with water and mud. Support fence wire above the muddy hole and have the soldier army-crawl through it. Second picture.
After he gets out of that, 20 jumpingjacks. Then, he needs to get down on his knees and shuffle like that at least 9 feet. Then he has to crawl, swim, & wade through a water-filled trench at least three feet deep, two feet wide, and at least 4 feet long. Put wire/fencing or any type of barrier on the sides. This part's only nessesary if troops will have to cross a river. Make him do this a couple of times.
After this, he has to run a lot, do plenty push-ups, jumpingjacks, & sit-ups. Once he's proven his physical worthness, put him through combat practice with other team members.

Wow, this is not a toy for airsoft, this is a real mortar. Great idea to use the post pounder, but I have to tell you flat out that using this in airsoft is horribly dangerous and i can in no way condone it.

This is going to sound very mean, but in all actuality, I probably wouldn't even trust an adult with this unless I was behind a blast shield. I might also add that this is most likely illegal, and if you get caught with this, your parents, and not you would get in lots of legal trouble.

Making gunpowder cannons is only legal as part of special enthusiast clubs or with a special license in some states. If you were an adult shooting this at a range of some sort or in conditions with any thought to safety, I wouldn't be being such a mean harsh person. The issue here is not so much that your cannon is dangerous, it's that your parents could get in a huge amount of trouble by letting their kid play with something so dangerous and shoot it at other people.

So I see.

I read it. I kinda already know about support gunnery, but I am sure this will help people who don't know about it. Just edit the text a little bit, and it will be great. Also, if you can use your own pictures, that would be best. Let's see how your team's support gunner is geared up! Or, better yet, a video of the training course or the mentioned tactics in action.

Nice, I live in california. Our games are usually only 4 vs. 4 matches on private property or public land. Occasionally I play in a large indoor CQB arena.

I can only imagine how dangerous it is for someone of your early years to be playing with gunpowder.

Also, I don't see anything related to airsoft here. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't airsoft a small 6mm plastic pellet projected with compressed air, CO2 or a spring?

You're going to put someone's eye out with that kid...

Not that I have anything against the word soldier, I am a mercenary. And I'm guerilla infantry, not artillery.

Don't sweat it.
