Step 2 Materials

2" schedule 40 PVC or ABS pipe 2ft or longer.

Fernco Proflex 2" CI, PL or ST to 1-1/2" Copper or 1-1/4"PL shielded coupler.

Fiberglass cloth tape 10"-12" wide by 2 yards.
Epoxy

1/8"x 1/2"x 24" aluminum bar.
1/2"x 3/4" x 1/16" thick aluminum angle - "L".
1" x 1" square wood dowel.

acetone
sheet of felt with adhesive backing.
roll of wax paper
24" lengtht mylar film
assorted screws and bolts.
Spray paint

1 Mad Bull XM-PB4 40 mm grenade ($80)
OR
1 S-Thunder Multi-purpose Grenade ($65)
OR
1 S-Thunder Foam Ball Grenade ($60)

TOOLS:

Dremel rotary tool
--Attachments: sanding drum, cutoff wheel.
Drill and assorted drill bits
screw tap
screwdriver
saw
plenty of latex gloves
dust mask
plastic cups for the epoxy
paint brushes
sand paper

how many times do u wrap the wax paper and mylar around the pvc

3-5 layers. It depends on how thick the material is. We want a tight fit but we also want the pvc tube to be able to slide. the fiberglass shrinks a little as it cures.

Which air grenade is better, or is all of them are the same and have the valve on the back?

would pvc work just as good for a replacement of the fiber glass?

There is no combination of PVC sizes where one PVC pipes outside diameter (OD) fits perfectly into the inside diameter (ID) of another pipe. Trust me, i did NOT want to use fiberglass, but there was no PVC or ABS solution that was simpler than just using fiberglass.

was the acetone used as a mold release agent for the fiberglass work? I am getting close to building mine using your instructions. But i am still trying to find a fiberglass mold release agent.

No, the acetone is a solvent. I used it to clean my brushes and epoxy measuring cups. and to clean epoxy off things that got epoxy on it. I did not use any mold release. The epoxy did not stick to the mylar. and when using wax paper, i got most of the paper off. What remained did not matter much or effect the performance or look.

umm does the two inch pvc fit a tennis ball in it because i made an airpresure launcher and im pretty shure it doesnt fit in the barrel

"Mini" Tennis ball. Go to a pet store and buy the smaller size tennis ball for small dogs.
