WARNING Do Not Take This Gun Outside.
I've had this Airsoft Sniper rifle for about a year now, and got sick of the blue stock.
so I thought I would revamp the gun with a better more authentic look.

Step 1: How Things Used to Be

Airsoft guns are supplied in two tone, usually bright orange or blue.
They look pretty cheep and tacky.

Step 2: The Strip

Remove the Barrel and trigger mech.
Unscrew the strap loops and any other removable parts.
Key the surface with fine sand paper, then clean the stock with and alcohol rub.

Step 3: The Undercoat

Give the stock an even coat of sand coloured paint.
Allow this to dry, apply another coat if required.
( I did try a matt black coat, but the gun looked as plain as porridge).

Step 4: The Top Coat

To give the stock a wood effect, I used an exterior wood stain.
Apply this coat with a brush, draw the brush from top to bottom in one smooth stroke,
this should give it a grain effect.
Touch up as required.

Step 5: Reassembly

Put the gun back together, take care not to scratch the paint job.
It can take a day of so to dry properly.

Step 6: Other Effects

Other effects can be achieved if you take time to plan the job.
The camouflage was applied with a small sponge and brush.
I used acrylic paint for the jungle effect..
