Airsoft / Poor Mans Flash Bang Grenade (Stun Grenade)

Your squad needs to establish some cover but the building is full of the enemy. You have all the training and tactics to make a proper room entry (maybe....well at least I do) but you have no way of surprising the enemy giving that edge in these hairy situations. This instructible will guide through the quick and easy steps to making your very own flash-bangs or stun grenades...or whatever the heck you wanna call 'em.

Step 1 Materials

For making these little things you will need the following:

• Plastic easter eggs (cheap get them at the dollar store. The ones with a tiny hole in the top are best.)
• Fire crackers
• Baby Powder
• A bathroom paper cup
• Tape
• A Screw to make the hole or make it bigger.
• Black paint or tape (optioinal)

Might this same principle be used to make a grenade with ant poison powder mixed in with the baby powder/talcum powder? My only guess is that the explosion would drive the poison into the air. I only suggest this because i have a terrible problem with ants in my backyard. My idea is to gas them. Would this work?

me and my dad figured out if one puts the hole for the fuse in the side then filler up with talc it explodes faster but bigger

Sorry to say but one fire cracker is enough to shatter the egg but not enough to throw the powder. Try model rocket engine black powder, its like a gun firing no joke! If you really wana stun grenade try it ;)

He is a bit off, you can still buy fireworks in Canada, at least in Alberta, cause I see them in towns in stores all the time and they are advertised in big letters and no one gives a hoot, so you can buy them fairly easily still...Not sure if its legal really but I have seen off-duty cops buying them, so, it must have some legitimacy to it, or they just don't care...

I built somthing like this but used the fire crakers with paper fuses bucuse they burn slower. then I took a ton of cheapy spinning fireworks, emptyed them out and used the faster burning wick for the fireworks powder. Epic multi colored flash bang!

If I were you, I would put the baby powder and the cracker into a water ballon, because the powder may not pierce through the tough plastic eggshell. After all, it is just a powder.

Oh and then peg someone with the water ballon, it doesnt hurt as much + make it count as insta kill.

ive done what u said before only problem when u transport it u have to be careful not to burst the balloon oh and btw it works better if u put the powder in and put some air into the balloon

True, it is a stun grenade. But try to run away once you get hit with four dozen painballs... but you might replace the firecrackers with a bottle rocket to make sure that they shoot out. XD just my thoughts...

yeah the bottle rocket i have tried and they just scortch the plastic but if u can find a way to propel them try it and lemmie know how it works. :)

use m80s theyre light weight and have just a little more power than bottle rockets but now there called M-8000s or something g4y like rock busters or sidewalk banggers( which sounds like a nick name for prostitutes lol) here in Virginia

 When i was kid i used these easter eggs and the shells from the candy machines  (put in a quarter get a cheap toy machine )   any ways  i never used fire crackers  yet. .   i used powder tho ..!!   i threw on the ground really hard at an angle while on my bike , , when passing unruly dogs or other people on bikes. . . it was  like a mad max period or something. .. .  



the evil side to it is this. .    powder is light wieght and goes and stays in the air.. . .  what if you add  ( like i did)       cayenne pepper    , ,  

the ground up kind in a powder. . it burns  it chokes and yes it binds to the powder and stays up . . !!!


maybe soom i'll post instructs  for my improptu pepper/powder cannon   availible in many sizes. .      powered by foot..!


this may be a great idea tho for massive bee hive i know of. .   and some sevin dust. . .     

i want to use paint  and seal their combs but i dont want a fire, ,,    once the bomb goes off its run and stay hidden time, ,  


were talking a massive hive. . .2-4 feet long  2 feet wide , in hollowed tree  12 feet off the ground.....

I have read grenade ible after grenade ible and have come to the following conclusion.

I'll stick to using the mass produced cheapo one shot grenades.
I have 10 of them all rendered inert.
I chuck them into a room, bunker, fox hole what have you and simply shoot the enemy as they flee from my dummy grenades.
Much safer, out is out and I get to brag about how I tricked them.

Most any very fine powder wil work for this. However, anyone trying this should be aware that this can be DANGEROUS! Most of the time it probably won't be a problem, but anyone who's played with fireworks (especially the cheap crud coming out of China) knows that there's a chance of a short-fuze, where it can blow a lot sooner than you think. You might get by with just some scorched fingers, painful for a week or so -- but if your luck is running badly that day, try to imagine what even a small piece of that plastic egg can do to your eye when it's hot & propelled at high speed. Even unburned pieces of the black powder have been known to cause real eye damage at close range. I'm just sayin' -- use some caution and common sense when playing with stuff like this. Even fireworks pros get injured ... or sometimes dead.
