Airsoft silencer

Give a general description of the Instructableis my homemade beretta 92 fs spring airsoft silencer. I would say that the total reduction is something like 30%-40%.

Step 1: Materials

You will need the following materials and tools to complete this project.

Materials:
a length of 1 inch or bigger diameter thin-wall pvc pipe
1x mini (12 oz) gatorade cap
1x 2L coke bottle cap
1x expo dry erase marker
a bit of pipe insulation
epoxy or some other wicked strong glue


Tools:
a rounded file
a flat file
scisors
hack saw
clamp(useful for holding stuf togeather while drying and holding stuff while sawing it in half)

Yes the P311 rocks. I was in an airsoft war, and charged 2 guys. One had a shotgun and the other had an AEG. When I held up my pistol, they ran away. (They ran away because I kept pelting them in the back)

You realize this is illegal unless you pay the nfa taxes, right? even having the stuff to make one, along with the intent, and not paying the tax will land you in jail for quite some time. even if it is only airsoft.

It is a spring gun. My favorite "cheap" spring pistol is the Smith and Wesson 1911 from Walmart. 300 fps, 15 round mag, very durable. Super accurate.

mine is a stinger p311 it was $20 and is 325 fps.

I love stinger p311's i bought two in a challenge kit and so far they are a very good sidearm.

i got a 325 fps spring for 15$ at BIG 5 at X-Mas. :)
its a Desert Brown Camo. Really Good reliable gun.

im not hating my first gun was a $20 beretta 92 springer it was fun until i got my all metal gas blow back beretta 92 and then i saw how dum it was

A real silencer works by allowing the gases emitted from a gun to cool and expand. By packing this silencer with silencing material you are defeating the purpose. The gas that comes out of your aifsoft gun can't expand(decompress) as much as if it were not packed. What I'm getting at is if I were making this I would not use the silencing material. Otherwise it's a great instructable. Much better than the paper one's I make.

Most airsoft guns used such as the one pictured are spring powered, not gas powered

They are spring powered yes, but still operate on the principle of compressed gas. The spring piston compresses gas (air) and uses it to fire the BB.

Most noise from these guns is the sound of the piston slamming shut, not from escaping gasses.

i once silenced and airsoft rifle, it was very simple, i cut the sound by over half, the real barrel the the pellt comes out the end is accesable, so i pushed a nerf dart over it without the tip. and i wrapped the breech with a rag and it made is so muchj quieter. but that only works if you can actually get the nerf dart onto the barrel it is a perfect fit for this one and it barely reduced speed of pellet if any at all. in fact that was my second silencer. the first one i made for my pistol it did not work to well, but i just got some cotton balls and a toilet paper tub put the cotton balls in to make a small slit in the center for the pellet to come out it worked occasionally but i had to hold it on.

Some state/countries have laws regarding silencer and are considered illegal if you do not register it.

nah, I'm talking about the silencer, you have to register the silencer also.
