Hmm, be sure to alert us of it's quality, Kiteman. I'm eager to see how it is (not eager enough to actually see it any time soon ;) )

I'm not sure about the 3D version, but my sister saw the normal version yesterday and loved it.

The 3D one was okay for a 3D movie

I think Burton did a good job by staying pretty close to the personalities of the characters that Carroll created, more so than Disney originally did I'm afraid (I do love the disney animated version). The original Disney movie never really captured that the Hatter was, well, mad and had moments of lucidity and then moments of complete insanity, not just a big goofy guy and i think burton really captured that. that last little bit that the hatter did was just ridiculous and nearly ruined the whole thing for me though (if you've seen it, i hope you know what I'm talking about). It was a good movie though.

True, but unfortunately, it is impossible to stay completely true to Dodgson's style in a movie, even in a made up sequel, because he was a nonsense writer. I do give Burton a lot of credit for trying and doing fairly well, though.

I was actually a little disappointed with the movie because it was a made up sequel but it probably would be impossible to make a movie that was exactly like the book. It was a good movie anyway.

CHANGE PLACES!!! love them both! you need to accept that this is a carry on from the original an not an attempt at a remake, 19yo alice is all grown up now! so the films a bit more grown up too, for instance its really called underland and it is just childish interpretation that led us to call it wonderland "stupid girl" says Absalom!, i feel its a worthy sequel...as worthy as a sequels can be. It will always sit beside the original feeding off its charm though. M.

What happened to Disney? Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland does not compare to the original animation. I remember when I was a child I would watch films like The Jungle Book and 101 Dalmatians and be amazed! Now, Disney has gone downhill and its films seem to be getting worse and worse as time goes by. If you ask me, many kids websites like Disney's should not be listed on the top category of sites like www.twitter.com/dozenkids. Is it time for us to realize that Disney is not really what it used to be and in fact it now scraping the barrel of entertainment?

i agree 100%. the originals are better than new ones lately.

Tim Burton's Alice is wonderful, but it's not supposed to be the same as the Disney animated one. For one, Alice is now 19 and she's going back to Wonderland. It's a new storyline and not based on the books nor the Disney movie. They both have their charms as well. I prefer to look at the Burton one as playing off the books and not off the Disney animated one at all.

I saw the 3D version last night at 9:45 after one very strong martini (dirty) and woah was it f*cking wild!! It was worth the annoyance of remembering the perv that Llewis Carroll was, right before the movie started, and the 3D was DEFINITELY worth doing! What a fun ride that was!
Mar 14, 2010. 9:09 PMJessickaRay says:
Lol, he wasn't a perv. The parent of the child was aware of everything that was going. I mean, there are nude photos in art books...do you think the photographer is a perv too? No, it's for art! Lol, if you want to talk about pervs, refer to the character who was after "Lolita"

The plot was pretty worthless in my estimation, but the visuals more than made up for it. I'll admit I was disappointed in Absalom's appearance, but the rest of the characters were fantastic.
