Alice in Wonderland cake

For a cake for an Alice inspired birthday we made a garden of "white roses" being painted red.
We used a chocolate cake base (the soil) and covered it with green frosting and green dyed coconut as grass.
Then threaded mint leaves lollies and strawberries onto kebab skewers that had been tinted green with food colouring.
We dipped the strawberries into white melted chocolate to get the white red combo and dripping paint effect.
To finish off we found conversation hearts and decorated around the edge just like the little meassages Alice found on her adventures "Eat this" etc.

I also thought after that on top of the choc cake soil the grassy area would have been much cooler with a green dyed white choc ganache icing topped with the coconut instead of the butter cream.

What would make this even cooler would be to make the strawberries into these

You're right. They would have been gorgeous like that. Too good to eat maybe....
Thanks.
