Would be good if you used images that were symbolic of the letter, that way you could still play scrabble with them if you wanted. i.e. Aardvark, Bee, Cat, Dog and so on, or you could just replace odd ones, like all the high scorers, Jay, Walrus and Zebra for example, now that would be neat and add a wonderful extra dimension to the whole scrabble thing, which can get a bit slow / tense at times, especially if you are playing it with my ex-wife... she is sooooo competitive... and I'm such a rubbish speller.

I don't know if that needed an instructable, but it is a very novel idea beatifully executed. Thanks for sharing.

Me too. Can you suggest sources for purchasing the tiles please?

I totally agree, ADaftGirl. I searched for awhile before finding instructions that were basic enough to understand.
I've heard of altered books, altered or art cards, but never altered scrabble tiles... what's next? This was NEAT thank you!

Great idea for button collectors. Make your own buttons. I remember the episode of Malcom in the Middle where the babysitter was showing dewey her buttons and Dewey ate the one he wanted to keep, haha.
I will use diamond glaze for my other project, it is just what I needed!

You should be able to find it at your local craft store.
Forgot to ask: Why you shouldn't let the glaze over the sides?

Diamond Glaze will stay where you put it without migrating. By covering only the top, it will look glass covered; if you put the glaze on the sides gravity WILL cause it to migrate and you'll get puddles and edges that will need to be sanded off. Finally, Diamond Glaze is a good adhesive. If you let it run over the edges, it will glue your tile to the surface it is sitting on. Nice Instructable!
