Altoides Tin Calculater

This is my tutorial for my Altoides calculater,I have to admit it's not the prettiest but it works.

Step 1: Materials

-Small and cheap calculater
-Altoides tin
-Needle nose pliers
-cordless drill
-screws
-Paint(optional-makes it much easier)

Step 2: Take Apart Calculater

The title of this step is pretty self explanatory.Make sure to keep the number pad and chip.Make sure not to break of the screen

Step 3: Marking Your Numbers

Take the number pad from the calculater and place it face down in some paint.Then open your Altoides tin and and place it down so it makes a print.This is where you drill your holes.

Step 4: Drilling Your Holes

Drill a single hole in each paint dot,don't worry about your numbers fitting in the holes,that comes in the next step

Step 5: Fitting the Holes for Your Numbers

Take your needle nose pliers and insert them into your holes.Use the pliers to pry the holes to the right size.Repeat on every hole.

Step 6: Fitting Your Screen

Fitting the screen is tricky,drill holes along where your screen will go.Use your pliers like you did with your numbers and pry a space for the screen.

Step 7: Placing Your Calculater

Place your chip so the numbers line up with it.

Step 8: Making the Chip Stay

I used some foam that I had lying around but your free to use whatever you want.Stack the foam until it keeps the lid from closing.

Step 9: Shutting the Tin

Put tape around the edges of the tin to keep it shut.Congratulations you are now done,happy calculating!
