1. Altoids Tin
2. Drill with bit
3. Car Phone Charger
4. 9 Volt Battery Clip
5. 9 Volt battery
6. Hot Glue Gun

Step 2: Drill the Hole

Drill the Hole for the USB connector...

Step 3: Strip the Car Charger

Strip the car charger, revealing the circuit.

Step 4: Glue the Board Into the Tin

Glue the board into the tin, it should fit snug into your hole for the USB.

Step 5: Solider or Hot Glue

Solder or hot glue the positive lead to the spring, and negative to the outer rings.

Step 6: Hook It Up and Your Completed

Your done, now charge your phone and check out my other Altoids instructables!!!
Warning: If the 9 volt battery goes too low, a iPhone will give you an indicator saying that charging is not supported with this device

This is great! Do you have any issues with heat as it's charging? -I'd like to do a leather or leather-covered version (gettin' fancy!) but I would worry about heat build up...

The car adapters are more efficient. Heat wont be a concern. I'd be more concerned with the 9v battery dying, they have low capacity ):

No, I have no issues with heating, if used for a prolonged time the battery will get warm, not hot. I would love to see that completed project, send me the picture! Thanks for the response!
