Introduction: Altoids Survival Tin

About: I make stuff.

Have You ever been scared of being stranded on an island or lost in the desert or maybe even being left behind on a hike? well this kit wont prevent that from happening but it will help you get out of those situations alive. This kit has all the essential pieces to surviving in the wilderness if you know how to use them, if you don't this will be useless for you. So I will walk you through every piece and how you can use it.

Step 1: Intro

As you can see evrything is tightly packed inside but nothing is forced in. The reason you don't want to force anything in is so nothing gets damaged because then its just useless and taking up valuable space

Step 2: Paracord

Paracord can be used for many different things in the wild, such as: traps, snares, shelter, rafts, repelling, and many more just be creative

the bright yellow bracelet raped around the tin is a paracord bracelet I show how to make in one of my other instructables
please check it out

Step 3: Bear Gryls Priorities of Survival

This little Waterproof paper has everything you need to survive, knowledge wise

Step 4: Duct Tape

You may have heard "you can fix any thing with duct tape" it is true you just have to be creative
duct tape is waterproof and has leathery properties

Step 5: Compass

You can use a compass to find direction to get back to where you need to go
but if you don't have a compass there are natural ways you can tell direction
ex. the sun always sets in the west.

Step 6: Matches

Matches are use for starting fire
fire is used a lot in the wild
like making torches, cooking, and even scaring off animals

Step 7: Multi Tool

this one has a flash light, knife, A saw, and pliers. all these tools are very useful in the wilderness
the knife can obviously be used for cutting things
the flashlight is to be able to see in the dark
the saw is to cut branches

Step 8: Band-Aids

These are obviously to cover up a cut so it doesn't get infected

Step 9: Candles

Matches only stay lit for about 15 seconds so you are going to want a candle to have burning instead of a match because these little birthday candles can stay lit for about 30 minutes

Step 10: Fire Starter

This is a Bear Gryls Fire starter and it has 5 uses
1. it creates sparks and it can make fire if used correctly
2. The para cord also known as 550 cord because it can hold up to 550 pounds this can be used for snares traps and shelters if you don't know how to make that pattern on the paracord I suggest you look at my instructable on how to
3. is has a hard side that can be used as a hammer
4. There is a water tight compartment that holds tinder

Step 11: Tinder

Tinder is what you need to start a fire there are natural ways to find tinder also but this is the easiest
you can make realy good tinder bu rubbing cotton balls in Vaseline

Step 12: Fisshing Materials

the thread can be used as stitches or fishing line
and the paperclip can be used as a fish hook

Step 13: The Tin

The tin itself can be used for carrying water or boiling snow into water or it can be used for boiling impurities out of water

Step 14: Finished
