Step 5 Choosing Your Fire Power

You have some choices here. You can cook your bread several different ways. Here are two of my favorite compact ways.

1) If you've searched Instructables.com for anything survival related, I am almost positive that you have come across a penny stove. I've made more than I care to tell you about.

2) A large size tea candle. You can also use two small ones side by side.

those are the best cheap lighters i ever had

It's funny you should mention that. About 25 minutes after sending in this instructable, I decided to burn the rest of the fuel in my penny stove instead of pouring it in the sink (waste not, want not!). When I tried to spin the wheel, the teeth on it shattered! it was the strangest thing. I was nearly inconsolable, considering the lighter was practically brimming with fuel. Sigh.

Did you keep the lighter? I'm sure there's a way to replace the wheel with one "punked" from an older, empty lighter. Waste not, want not!

I did indeed keep the lighter, if you have a spare one you can send me a new wheel!

it is easy to take the wheel out of those lighters if you have one empty you could use it
