Introduction: Always Remember- 9/11 ////Painting\\\\

I have always been one that wants to learn more and connect to the 9/11 events. I feel this painting could be a great gift, or just something to hang on your wall in your home.

Step 1: Sketch Outlines of the Buildings

For this step, you will need a pencil, ruler, and a canvas. For the current New York City, I did not include the World Trade Center 1. However, you can if you would like to. For the twin towers on the opposite side, I later chose to make them shorter and include the antenna on the left building.

Step 2: Background

For this next step, you will need a base color of blue, and some mixing white paint. I chose to use a medium sized brush. All you have to do is fill in the area behind the buildings. I chose to use a darker blue for the Twin Tower background.

Step 3: Outlining the Buildings

Next, you will need a small round tip brush, and black or dark gray paint. What you are going to do is outline the current NYC setting. I also chose not to outline the Twin Towers, but you can if you'd like.

Step 4: Filling in the Buildings

Now you will need a gray or black, and light gray paint. I chose to again, use a medium sized brush [round tip]. Next, you will fill in the buildings on both sides, with the different colored gray.

Step 5: Windows and Doors [details]

For this next step, you will need a small detailing brush with a round tip, and black or dark gray paint. All you need to do is paint some small windows and doors. This is also where I added some fun roofs, and decided to make the Twin Towers shorter. If you would like, you can add an antenna on the left Twin Tower building. This makes it look more realistic. For the Twin Tower windows I made a grid with my paint, since on the real building, there was many windows.

Step 6: Small Details

For this last step, you will need different colors of paint and a small round tip detailing brush. I decided to use pink, red, green, and yellow paint. This is where you can add curtains, shutters, people looking out the windows, plants, and much more. I added curtains, awnings, and plants on the window sill. Lastly, I added "always remembered - 9/11"

Step 7: Finished!

Now you are finished and left with this masterpiece! And remember, you can always add your own little touches to any painting!
