Step 1Materials and Prep

Materials and Prep
(1) office badge retractor
(1) fairly small but very strong magnet
superglue, hot glue or epoxy
cut out 2 small pieces of felt or some sort of soft fabric slightly larger than your magnet
about 6-8 inches of fishing line
scissors or knife

The only problem with this trick is the tell-tale "zip" sound that the string gives away when it jerks back into the clip. Otherwise, great instructable. :)
