Android Controlled Garage Door Opener

Android Controlled Garage Door Opener

My project is an Android Controlled Garage Door Opener. This type of project has been done before, but with extensive hardware, such arduino boards, servers, etc., and involved complicated coding, and money. I did it all with minimal hardware, no coding, and at a total cost to me of only $15.

With a lot of trial and error, I was able to come up with a way to remotely monitor, and control my garage door with an old Android phone, a bluetooth headset, and a few free Android Apps. Great for those times when you can't remember if you closed the garage door long after you left your house. Or if you need to let your neighbor in but do not want to hand out your house keys. I created a youtube video and website which shows all the set up instructions as well as which Apps I used.
