My project is an Android Controlled Garage Door Opener. This type of project has been done before, but with extensive hardware, such arduino boards, servers, etc., and involved complicated coding, and money. I did it all with minimal hardware, no coding, and at a total cost to me of only $15.

With a lot of trial and error, I was able to come up with a way to remotely monitor, and control my garage door with an old Android phone, a bluetooth headset, and a few free Android Apps. Great for those times when you can't remember if you closed the garage door long after you left your house. Or if you need to let your neighbor in but do not want to hand out your house keys. I created a youtube video and website which shows all the set up instructions as well as which Apps I used.

Wow this is fantastic. Do you know if there is anything like this for iOS? I have some <a href="http://www.thegaragedoorcompany.ca/" rel="nofollow">garage doors in Calgary</a> that I want to install a system on so I don't have to manually open them in the winter. Thanks!
That is really cool, thanks for sharing those links. I was trying to find a good <a href="http://americasoverheaddoor.com/category/openers/" rel="nofollow">garage door opener in San Jose</a>, but then I heard you could do it on the android and I really want it.
Thanks so much for sharing this! I was thinking there had to be a way to open and close <a href="http://www.thegaragedoorcompany.ca/" rel="nofollow">garage doors in Calgary</a> with your phone. I'm excited to try this out! Thanks again for posting!
