Introduction: Angry Birds Vegetable Pizza

I hope I didn't upset the already angry birds when I turned their piggy enemy into broccoli :)

This is my version of vegetable pizza... Revamped to be not only fun and easy to make, but tasty too! This is great for adults and children alike, and you can use it to make just about anything colorful.  I chose Angry Birds, but the possibilities really are endless.  This also has no meat in it, so if you are a vegetarian and eat cheese and milk, this is perfect for you!

Let's get started:)

Step 1: Get It Together

Ingredients you will need:

• 2 cans of crescent rolls
• 1 cup of mayonnaise
• 2 packages of cream cheese (softened)
• Veggies (I used broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and a tomato)
• Food coloring
• Shredded cheddar cheese
• Bacon bits (get Imitation if you choose to keep it vegetarian-read the ingredient list on the package of bacon bits)
• One package (1 oz.) Hidden Valley Ranch mix

Supplies:
• 1 cookie sheet
• Large mixing bowl
• 2 smaller bowls
• A mixer makes things easier, you can mix it by hand though
• A cutting board and a knife
• A measuring cup
• Soap and water (for your hands =]

Step 2: Bake the Birdy... Not Really!

Now that we have everything together, and we have washed our hands :), we are ready to start this fun process.

First, let's make the crescent rolls.  Preheat your oven to 375, or as the package directs.  You will need to spread the crescent rolls out and make sure they are all connected.  If you have extra dough, just smash it all in.  I made a slightly raised crust by pinching up the edges.  You can use your fingers to do this whole thing.  Just seal up all the holes.

Place your crescent rolls in the oven for 12 minutes or until golden brown on top.

While they are cooking, let's move on to the next step

Step 3: Mix It. Get Aggressive If You Must.

As the crescent rolls bake, we can start making the pizza "sauce", which is actually more of a thick, tasty cream.

In your large mixing bowl, put the 2 packages of cream cheese, 1 cup of mayo, and the whole package of ranch mix.  I didn't have softened cream cheese, so it was kind of hard to mash up.  I pulled out the mixer and mixed it on low for about 2 minutes.  It can still have some lumps in it, just try to get it all mixed together.

Step 4: Color Inside the Lines

OK, there are no lines. And it's not really time to color the baking crust yet.  But it is time to color your "sauce".  You can use whatever colors you want, but I'll tell you how I did mine.

I left about 2/3 in my large mixing bowl.  I put some in another bowl and a small amount in a small bowl.

I used about 5-6 drops of blue in the large mixing bowl.  I used about 4 in the small for the green.  You can make whatever color you want though, I just didn't want to put too much and end up with weird tasting sauce.  Leave the stuff in the tiny bowl white for now (I'll add some yellow later).

OH! I almost forgot to take the crescent rolls out. I hope they didn't burn :/

Step 5: Chop It While You Cool It.

OK, so the crescent rolls didn't burn.  I really need to get a timer.

Anyways, see the crispy looking golden brown color? Probably not. My phone is the source of the photos. But you know what I mean.

You need to let this cool for about 15 minutes.  While that is cooling, I'd say it's an excellent time to cut the veggies:)

Make sure to thoroughly rinse all of your vegetables, even if they are in a package that says "ready to eat." Trust me.  Next, cut your broccoli so they are florets only.  Get a baby carrot and cut a "V" out of one end. Cut your tomato in half and next cut a triangle to insert your carrot beak and cauliflower eyes into.

I used a leaf from the broccoli stalk for the eyebrow.  You could also just use some broccoli or whatever you'd like.

The eye part is blue food coloring. Be careful not to put too much or you'll have a runny blue mess.

So, I'm not the fastest chopper, so it's been about 15 minutes since I took the crescent rolls out.  If you're faster, wait until it cools.

Step 6: Now We Really Get to Color.

I know, you thought it'd never come. The decorating.  This is the fun part. I'm by no means an artist, but this was really fun!

I'm attaching pictures. You will be able to see the steps I took.  But you can make your own even better!

Tips:

Cover the whole thing with the sauce first. You can keep some left over for the sun and clouds. I did these last.

I cut some of the tomato off of my angry bird.  You can adjust the size accordingly.

The piggy can be hard to make, but he's really cute:)

I hope you enjoyed my [first-ever instructable] on Angry Bird Pizza. I had fun making it and I hope you do too!  This leaves so much room to make it whatever you want, and the more veggies, the better :)
