I found this adorable craft on utube and thought I would share it with our instructables community. I could see the potential of making this craft into more than a hair bow. Kids of all ages can make this cute Angry bird craft. It can be a decoration for just about anything; by adding different ways of attaching it. I will show you just how easy it is. Let's get started!

Step 1: Supplies

2 Red 7/8" wide grosgrain ribbon 10" lengths
1 White 7/8" wide grosgrain ribbon 10" long
1 Red 7/8" grosgrain ribbon 6" long
1 orange ribbon 7/8" wide 4" long
1 Black 7/8" grosgrain ribbon 3" long (cut in half lengthwise) and half again.
1 Black grosgrain ribbon the length and width of the alligator clip or clothespin
Matching thread
2 Googly eyes
Alligator clip
Velcro, elastic, clothes pin, or magnet which ever is appropriate for its use.

Step 2: Tools

Ruler
Glue gun/glue or fabric glue if working with kids
Scissors
Lighter
Cardboard or newspaper to protect work surface
Sewing pins optional

Disclaimer: Lighters will burn, scissors will injure, glue gun will burn, Glue is hot, and pins are sharp. Extreme caution is needed when using them. Reader takes full responsibility of making this craft and needs to protect their kids from any harm in making any sort of craft.

Step 3: Tuxedo Bow

Make 3 Tuxedo bows 2 red and 1 white from the 10"ribbon.
It is important to heat seal all raw edges and heat seal every-time you cut off an end.
To do that you hold the flame to the raw edge briefly and quickly. Then run your fingers over the area.
Watch the video link on the front page if you are confused.

Form a circle as shown.
Flatten as shown.
Turn over as shown.
Mark center using a sewing pin.
Remove the pin and fold into thirds.
Use a sewing pin to hold it into place or have someone hold it for you.
Tie matching thread around the bow several times very tightly.
Tie it into a knot.
Remove pins.
Trim off excess thread.

Step 4: Attaching Bows

Place the bows together matching the centers.
I placed them on my ironing board and secured them with sewing pins.
Then tie thread around several times very tightly.
Tie it in a knot. Tie it in a knot again.
Remove pins.
Trim off excess thread.

Step 5: Straighten Bow

Straighten the bow out to form the shape of the head and body.

Step 6: Head Feathers

We will be making 2 head feathers.

Cut the 6" red ribbon in half lengthwise.
Heat seal the edge.
Fold in half and crease.
Open it up.
Glue the center.
Press to seal.
Repeat with remaining red ribbon.
Glue the ends together at in a V shape.
Glue the head feathers on the wrong side of the bird.

Step 7: Beak

Fold the beak as shown at an angle beginning on the right side.
Fold the left side as shown.
Secure with a sewing pin.
Flip over.
Fold the beak and press to form the shape of the beak.
Glue.
Cut off excess.
Press the beak again to hold the shape.

Step 8: Attaching Beak

Glue the beak to the center of the bird as shown.

Step 9: Eyes

Glue the eyes.

Step 10: Eye Brows

Crease each piece of the eyebrows lengthwise.
Open them up and glue the edge.
Fold them in half and press.
Glue them to the bird.

Step 11: Alligator Clip

âCut a small strip of the black ribbon the lenth of the clip or close pin.
Cut the length in half.
Fold it in half and crease.
Open it up.
Glue the edge.
Fold in half and press down and smooth.
Glue to the alligator clip as shown.
Add a hair bow to the bird if desired.

Step 12: Sunshiine's Final Thoughts

There would be many uses for this craft. If you are interested in a different bird let me know and I will try and make one. I like the way it can be removed so an item can be washed. You could attach it to a pin and it could be worn on a blouse or dress.
