The apple iPad 3 Smart Cover is great, but the screen cover just flaps around when flipped open. This is especially true if you're right handed and are holding the iPad on the left side with your left hand. As the screen cover is magnetic, wouldn't it be great if it snapped closed AND open??

Step 1: Cut Sheet Metal

Cut a small thin strip of sheet metal and cover the edges in tape to prevent scratching the iPad. Put it in the case with the metal side facing downwards, or tape up the whole piece if you feel like it.

Step 2: Position Metal Plate in Case

Place the sheet metal plate in the case as shown and replace the iPad. The plate should be located midspan along the edge on the case. It is recommended to tape the metal in place in the case to prevent it from sliding around.
