Instructables
School, boring school, why not make it a little more interesting with the lovly hornet! A hornet is a rubber band and a piece of paper etc. attached to it. You pull back, let go, and let it snap on the back of the victums neck (or anywhere else).

Step 1: Making and Using Hornets

Hornets are fun and simple school devises. Basically, you attach a folded up piece of paper or piece of metal to a rubber band, pull back, and aim at the back of someone's neck. It hurt like heck and are also good for firing long distances without inflicting as much pain. Here's what you need to make them:

Rubber bands
Post-Its
Index Cards
Paper Clips

Step 2: Making lightweight hornet ammo

First, peel of a Post-It from the stack. Now fold it twice verticly and once horizontally. Mass produce them for shotgun ammo (I'll explain later). These lightweight hornet ammo are easy to make but don’t really sting and suck at long distance shots.

Step 3: Making medium weight hornet ammo

Take an index card and rip it into thirds. Take on of those thirds and fold it twice horizontally and once verticlly. Mass produce for shotgun ammo. Medium weighted hornet ammo is a little harder to make due to the thickness of the index card but pack a nice sting and fly a nice ways before curving out of control if shot.

Step 4: Making heavy weight hornet ammo

Bend a paper clip apart so it makes a 90-135 degree angle. Now bend the tips inward so the rubber band doesn't get caught and backfires giving you a red hand. Mass produce if you desire. These heavy weight hornet ammo stings like hell! Even though they seem hard to make and too heavy to fly, they can zip far distances and don’t curve.

Step 5: Snapping the hornets

Position a rubber band on your thumb and middle finger and stretch it out. Now load the ammo by fitting it in the rubber band with the crease. Find a victim, pull back, and release!

Nice job! I found out another way to make hornets myself, though: Cut a sliver of rubber band and use THAT as a hornet! It works. :D

If you ever get caught or blamed role the rubber band up and by your arm pit lol they wont ever find it

I can make these things whistle and shatter glass
I have an arsenal of these at school and at my house, ranging from thin, to metal, to foil, to thick, to even "shatter hornets". The shatter hornets explode on impact, like a frag grenade.
i have learned that the smaller you make them the more they sting and hurt trust me
That has to do with aerodynamics and how much surface area your shot has.

If it has a small surface area, it will travel faster thus creating more pain on impact, but if it has more surface area, it will travel slower and give blunt force on a lesser speed and smaller impact force.

Also, a smaller surface area includes a smaller impact area where as a larger surface area gives more wide-spread pain and a larger impact area.
Aerodynamics is only one part of it. I always had the feeling that the smaller the area of impact (on the wasp, hornet etc.) the more focused the force of it all is thus a sharp pain to whatever thing has an impact sensor on it, biological or otherwise... I'm not a physicist, so correct me if I'm wrong.
Actually, I'm not a physicist either.
Neither am I.
Just concentrating all of that potential energy onto that little point of impact, really. If it has a lower amount of potential energy and more kinetic energy, it will sting very hard, like a bullet. Higher potential energy and less kinetic energy is comparable to an artillery shell of sorts. It has wide-spread damage distributed to a larger point of impact. Then again, you would want a rubber band that gives it a lot of power, like a 7-inch rubber band when using larger ammo.
you don't know how to make the post-it ammo do you first you fold it in half with the sticky side and fold it the other way and fold it as small as you can eater way about 7 times. I know what i am doing i do it all day in school those leave welts.
I use them at school all day as well, I have an arsenal in my locker, my school bag, and my house. We used to have wars in school, and at the end of 7th grade...oh my god. We had over 50 kids shooting these in the cafeteria, classrooms, bathrooms, you name it! When making them in large quantities, I use sticky notes, index cards, etc. When making them in small quantities, I use thin poster board, taped together milk-carton strips, and tinfoil.
post-its are the best
Found out a good way to make them out of metal. Not to shoot at anything alive, really! Will post an I'ble on them soon. Sounds simple, but i tried making them a bit more unique.

Be careful, I've been shot in the lip with one of these, it hurts like ---. Never aim at the face, unless you need to, your victim doesn't deserve it.

LoL my school banned them because so many people were shooting em

In my country, they're called V-darts. I have a friend who makes them so good they're like rocks when you try to sqeeze them together. we had to put it under my couch and sit on the couch just to make it bend into a V.

We would always have hornet fights on the bus and one day i accidentaly hit this girl in the eye with one. She had a whole lot of damage to her eye. She didn't go blind though. I'm just saying be very careful when playing with these.
i want to shoot this at my teacher
 DON'T

I roll my hornets. I use a wide Post-it and then bend it over once lengthwise, and once the other way. Then I roll it up. It hurts not that much, but flies a good way.
hahaha. good times, these are illegal in my county now, we called them tweeters and we would shoot em at people. one day my friend decided to make "flaming" ones so he covered them in wax and let the wax dry, then he brought his lighter to school and he would melt them, shoot them, and they hurt. he shot one at a kid and it stuck to him and it burned his arm then the next day he shot one of the paperclip ones and it hit a kid in the eye. that kids mom sued the school and now they are illegal.
don't you mean "banned"?
were is your country?
you will blind someone with that i use sling shot rubber.
