Introduction: Artfun Station, Updated 4 Big Wheels (blender Included)

Recumbent + Blender + Skateboard + Didgeridoo + Music Keyboard + Video.+ Art + self-sustainability.

I´m a visual artist/musician who  likes to travel a lot. Have a proyect I´m working on, that consists in traveling around the world sharing music and images to connect with different people,  interacting in some kind of way,  in live performances, sharing this  in remotes places where maybe internet didnt reach, or places that are hidden, or seppareted from the urban centers.

For example.., going to a far village inside a forest and show them a film, that they probably didnt know about, playing some music or doing a painting or just doing something to connect,  without expecting nothing particular.

The main idea is to have a way to travel around the world using a recumbent bike, carring a few things: a bike-blender ,didgjeridoo, small guitar, music keyboard (inside a bamboo stick), video camera, photo camera, tablet pc, video glasses, a  video proyector ( wich I did not have yet), so it its very nice to participate for that price, PLease Vote for it if you like the proyect,

The instructable will be uptated soon with some new pictures and video, just had some minor issues with the camera right now.

Actually the bike has place for 3 people and room for lot of things, the sistem works like a detachable trike that conects to a 4th wheel where 2 more people can go seated, ( providing a portable blender that is powered by pedaling)

Here´s a video showing some examples you can do using human bicycle power.

THe idea is also to record everithing that happens in the trips, music, video, stories... and to share then all that happens and will happen while the thing moves.

This is a short I´ve done like a  preview, some of the music is done with the bamboo keyboard !!

Step 1: The Parts Laying Around

Here is the puzzle, a skateboard,  a recumbent that was ready to be finished ( used 2 regular frames ), 2 car seats covers, 2 wheels, etc. For the seat frame bend 2 thins iron rods that can be easily bend.

Step 2: Bending the Seat Frame So the Skate Board Can Fit Nicely

Had to bend the seat frame to fit the skate, hammered the frame and used some pressure tools, when the rod is steady I bend it using my arms, not to much force is needed, (Im a skinny one)

Step 3: Using Some Foam to Get the Correct Shape

Cut some foam to get the seat fit the skateboard shape correctly, used a cutter and scissor, then used some glue and some preassure to get the parts together.

Step 4: Frame and Suspension

I had some parts already cutted, because I´ve been working on the recumbent some time before, but the main thing I did was to use 2 used old bicycle frames I had, and cutted from there some parts and then weld them toghether getting the shapes I had in mind. (forgot to photograph the welding stage)

Step 5: Bamboo Keyboard

Had an old Casio S-35 keyboard that used a lot, an break it apart the parts were perfet to put inside a bamboo, the speaker magically had the same diametre of the bamboo inside,  and the circuit component also had the almost the perfet size for it, only had to cut some small to fit it nicely, added some blue led light inside. Cutted the bamboo in half using a big knife wasn´t hard just one cut in the top, and then had to hit the knife down with a hammer, and woalla the bamboo was cutted, then used a grinder to cut the keys, glued form inside a cloth so the top part of the key could move without falling apart. Then used the same foam of the recumbent seat and put it inside to act like a spring, worked really good, then driller in the foam holes for each note, and put a plastic stick inside the hole in the foam so when the bamboo key is pressed the plastic stick reachs the note of the Casio S-35 Circuit that had already a rubber that worked fine. Then wired all the things and everithing in place, by the way this thing can be plugged into an amplifier, and can be used with batteries or 110/220 power.

Step 6: Paint It Yellow

Paint it yellow... ( Had to make some details in sky-blue, and red)

Step 7: Gettin All Together

Boths bamboos fitted really good in the place between the skateboar and the wheels/trucks, the small guitar (called Charango) also fitted well between the bamboos, the bag had a reserved place in the frame and another safe bag is placed in the head possition to rest the neck while providing vissibility in the road.

Step 8: Testing the Road

Went outside to test the recumbent with the skateboard (semi longboard because had longboard trucks), the recumbent performed incredibly well, the suspension really worked well, the front is really smoth an the rear works good too, getting out and putting the skateboard from the bike isnt to kard just had to bend a little the seat frame and it can go out, and the seat can also be used without the skateboard so you can go with another person attached to the bike and with a cord 2  can travell very good it paying attention.

The movile is ready to go, just need some things one is the video proyector, so PLEASE!!! if you like the proyecto VOTE ME, you´ll make me really really really happy because don´t have ye t the money to afford one, also if you like the proyect and want to contact me for some reason please do so.

It´s just an abstract short with some concepts that I´ll been working and some images of  trips, plus friends. Not too much, but had a lot to edit and to record.

Please Vote me if you like it.

Bye bye !!!
