Step 8 Step 8: Attach the stabilizing bolt to mending plate

Put the bolt through the mending plate hole on the opposite end from the support bolt and screw another nut on the bolt to attach it. No need to tighten these, in this case the screw will only be loosely attached to the mending plate. The nuts will serve as guides that will help with leveling the mending plate, and thus camera attached to it.
