Step 2Securing the First Stitch
To prevent unraveling, secure the first stitch with a "back tack": Insert needle into base garment. Pop it back up, making about an 1/8" long stitch. Pull the thread through slowly, leaving about a 1/2" tail.
Reinsert the needle into the same hole you started with. Pop it back up the same hole. {Go slow, accuracy counts}. Pull the thread through, holding the tail secure.
