Introduction: BB8 Hand Art (Star Wars)

About: I am a conceptual artist, and my DIY projects are mostly inspired by pop culture (movies, music, sports, TV). I mostly specialize in painting, graphic design, drawing, digital photography, performance art, and…

In 2015, we have been felt by the force as we are introduced to the debut of BB8 in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. So, this BB8 hand art became the true inspiration thanks to Ms.MaoMaoz's lip art version of this intergalactic masterpiece!

Step 1: Outline

I begin, as always, with a white outline of the entire scene with white paint (Mehron Paradise). If you like, you can also use a white eyeliner pencil.

Step 2: Light Brown

Next, comes the fill-in process. To start, I used Light Brown (Mehron Paradise) for the ground.

Step 3: Yellow Moon

Next, diving into my yellow, I painted a moon on the top corner.

Step 4: Black Night Sky

Then, I filled the empty gap of the hand with black for a night sky.

Step 5: Galaxy Effect

Then, I patted on a mix of blue, purple, and pink shadow to make a galaxy effect on the night sky. I used Urban Decay Electric shadows in Chaos, Urban, and Savage.

Step 6: Stars

Then, I added a white highlight to half of the yellow moon, then used more white, along with yellow, to create some dots and twinkling stars.

Step 7: BB8

Now, for the BB8 robot, I filled in the base with white, then used orange, grey, and black to create the outlines and details on the robot's body.

Step 8: Complete!

May the force be with you!
