You can turn an old Genius joystick into a junkbot like the ones on the "Batteries not included" movie. Just dismantle the joystick and use the case.

I use plotter gears and LEDs for the eyes, oven knobs for the feet, wire and pincers for the arms and a blue deodorant cap for the batteries box.
