Step 2Cutting the books

cutting the books
cutting the books is not fun! but if you have a-
table saw
shopvac
dust mask
you can do this fairly easy. set your fence on the saw to 1 1/4" hook up your shop vac to the saw, put on you dust mask. and start cutting the books with the bind of the book to the fence, you will have to empty the shopvac about 5 times depending on the size of the vac. IF YOU TRY TO CUT THESE IN A CLOSED AREA WITHOUT A SHOPVAC AND MASK YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BREATH!!! I KNOW CAUSE I DID IT.

why can't you just make it a real book shelf and not hack up books. You know, for people dying from the sight of hacked books. I understand though : )

I'm crying a little on the inside. :(

Just make sure you're not cutting up books all willy nilly and don't end up hacking up any antique first editions that have been laying around your grannies house not being used.
