Ok, well the other day i grabbed a deal on ebay - a resin model of the season two gun from battle star galactica! it cos me only 16 Pounds which is considering that the cheapest Ive seen them is 40 Pounds.

It was basically a sand and paint job. Firstly i took my dremel to it to sand off the rough 'seam' lines. I also deepened the barrel holes. Once this was done i then filled in an gaps (formed by bubbles normally) with epoxy resin, and resanded those areas.

I then gave the whole model about 20 thin coats of black spray paint, I added further detail using silver leaf paint to the switches, and brown to the handle.

Enjoy!

since I know nothing about battle star galactica, I thought that was a 5.7 with a weird looking laser sight

What are the dimensions of your casting?

I seriously believe this deserves being made into a rail mounted accessory for any 1911 handgun, you could modify it to carry a .410 flare shell, Dragon's Breath round, or just regular shot. Not horribly accurate, but the original design was intended as an up-the- toaster's-jaw kind of round, last ditch effort at extremely close range. I'd buy that.

Nice! Is the extra block in the front a taser or something?
its an explosive round launcher

Would you consider making an instructable on a Desert Eagle? Me and about 60 friends are making an action film and I'd appreciate some decent props which are cheap, rather than buying a load of low-quality expensive DEagle bb/airsoft guns.
I <3 how you managed to use my favorite handgun (The FiveSeVen) to make this beauty. just. please. get arid of the wooden grips

Thanks, but if you look, its to match the ones used on screen by the cast of BSG.

Nice, is the color scheme authentic? I haven't seen the show.

Well, the real one is black and brown, i basically picked the closest brown from the craft section, i was only going on screen shots however.

gmjhowe (author)  grantaccess5 years ago
I will add one!
thanks for the before pics - they really highlight how much work it must have been to get the final product. Looks great

Awesome, but I'm trying to figure out how this qualifies as an "instructable."
