BUSINESS CARD STAND FROM RECYCLED MATERIAL

 by agnivohneb
Need something to display your business cards on your desk. How about this eco-friendly Business Card Stand. I am making this from things found around my house. You can use different material than I use as long as you keep within the general design.

I will be making two different card holder using different material but the same design.

I like holder 2 (see step 6) better because it has an almost invisible look. Like your cards are floating.

Instructable Card Holder 001.JPG
I am using things that I found around my house.

The fist card holder I am making I will be using a Granola Bar box that was in my recycle box.

The second card holder I am using a small pop bottle that was on my desk.

I picked up some tools that I think I will need.
- Scissors
- Box Cutter
- Tape

While it is commendable and clever to use recycled material, you give your business cards to people whom you want to have a positive impression of you. Business card holders made from cheap looking materials may not convey the impression you want.

I would just like to add that a friend of mine sells upcycled art and runs courses on different techniques and arts. She does the odd show here and there to promote herself and these would be perfect! They would work perfectly for recycling artists/designers :)

Why are all of your pictures so blurry?

I was doing this in a dark area of the room so my camera was unable to auto focus properly. I need to get a lamp or something on my desk.

A flash might help too. It looks like you have put a lot of work into this Instructable.

I was using a flash but my camera focuses just before the flash and when it can't see very well it assumes that the object is about 5 ft away. My camera sucks. Saving up for a new SRL soon.

So you can't read what's on the business cards L

Hi Ben, Did you try this with a flash and find the cards whited-out? I think the image problem may be down to low light and a slow-shutter, or maybe just too close to the lens. One fix is to take on max-res from further away then crop a lower-res image from that. L
