I have been told to use +R disks, what is the difference between + and -. The reason why I have +R is that the disks are thinner and the Wii will not work as hard to read them

Aaah does anyon know how to play new wii games without updating firmware. I am running 3.2U and want to keep it that way. I tried Gecko OS but get error 002 and same thing happens with wii disc channel.
You have to patch it, here is the address of a simple patcher, it might not work on the brand new games:

One question. Could I use a DVD-RW??? Also exactly what brand of DVDs could I use then.
yes, get dvd-r discs made by sony. i have tried about 3 other brands when sony was not available and they got a disc read error within a day, but the first game i burned over 5 months ago still works like a charm on a sony disc : )
The wii sees right through a DVD-RW. Rewriteables are out of the question. In any case, use a DVD-R. You can buy 100 of them for ten bucks, they're not that expensive.

im willing to try to rip a game iso onto my hard drive when i get back from vacation. i will make a youtube video and just send you the url or something. While im out of town i will hack one of my friends wiis. he is into backing up his games because he has a little sister who is old enough to think it is fun to hide/break his games. i have personally seen 2 of these experiences lol. i just hope she doesnt get to "triggerhappy" and go for something bigger like the wii itself. she needs some discepline but his parents dont think its a big deal.

Found the problem, it's internet explorer!, use firefox or something else if you have my problem.
damianmof4 years ago
Also tried this with Wii Fit, same thing, iso size 386mb
damianmof4 years ago
Everything seems to work but when I try to rip Twilight Princess from DVD it shows as only 386mb this seems way to small for an iso. the file is RZDP.iso will it not work because I used this disk for the homebrew?

Also, I burned at 2x because I was getting error messages so I lowered the burn speed and it worked without errors.
Yeah, It's always a good idea to burn at the slowest speed you possibly can. This helps prevents any bad burns. It's slower, yeah, but what it lacks in speed it makes up for in quality. :)

Can we use SDHC(Secure Digital High Capacity) card or have to be SD(Secure Digital) card????
AFAIK you can use SDHC, infact a tutorial of adding an external hard-drive to the Wii recommended it.
conradev (author)  venomireland4 years ago
Yeah, this guide is about to be replaced by a SD, SHC and USB guide
conradev (author)  traidam4 years ago
SD would be a safer move
blee385 years ago
Awesome tutorial, worked easily but should be noted that in order to do this you need 3.2 firmware or lower. Also, should I be concerned with having my Wii running for 6 hours?
stomp_4425 years ago
you all should try the website "wiihacks.com", lots of info there. There's also another called "wiibrew.org".

Okay so I forced NTSC and the game Skate It worked in color, but when I go to force NTSC for Spongebob Atlantis Squarepantis it gets stuck on the green screen.. I will try and burn at a slower speed to see if this works.. Any Ideas??
