nice "ible" I make something very similar, just a couple of questions. 1. Why would you ever throw out gods elixir ? Like my grandmother I save every drop, unlike gram who kept hers in a can on the stove mine is in a jar in the refrigerator. 2. Why add the milk to the grease first? Anytime I make a gravy I start with a roux which is basically adding flour to fat (butter, oil, bacon grease, lard etc) and cook untilo the desired color and then add either the milk, stock or drippings

I would not throw it out. I keep as much as possible. As for your second question...that is just how I have done it. Thanks for the comment.

With the two bacon recipes of yours I've read through so far, you must be the Great Bacon Cook! You must be delighted with the inventor of the Bacon Alarm Clock folks out there. And the variety of those that are going to be coming into the stores some day soon. It's not at the sell-in-the-store that much stage yet, but it will be.

I do like the bacon alarm clock. It is a great idea.

Bacon gravy has long been on the menu at my husband's favorite restaurant. When we got married he took me there to taste their version, so I could make it for him at home.
May I suggest leaving out the sugar and replacing it with garlic, or using a garlic/pepper blend.

I like that idea. Thanks.
