Step 1: Ingredients

IMG_1914.JPG
2 packages of Thick sliced bacon ( I use turkey bacon)
About 32 cherries (1 small jar of maraschinos OR fresh cherries can be used for this, but if you use fresh ones, don't forget to remove the seeds.)
1/4 cup honey
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
about 7 BBQ Skewers (if you use wooden ones, you need to soak them in water for 20 minutes before cooking, to keep them from burning)

I've had prunes wrapped in bacon with a balsamic reduction and it was wonderful...You would want to find other fruits that have a good concentration of sweetness I would think...you wouldn't want anything too bitter..

I am planning on making an instructable about bacon wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese that has a balsamic base dipping sauce. maybe you can try something like that. Or just wait for mine (wink wink nudge nudge how what I mean.)

I've made bacon wrapped dates plenty of times, but never thought of stuffing them with blue cheese. Darn it, I'm drooling already.

That is crazy! Do you think this would taste good with other berries, or is cherry the fruit to use?

i don't know, could be good. always worth a try.grapes might be good. I like to make small test batches of things to get them the way i like, and this would be an easy one for that. Bacon wrapper Fruit Cocktail kabobs sound like a good idea.maybe bacon swirled around them packed close together. sounds like a new project. Thanks again Penolopy, you and your mustache have helped make this site a more creative place
