If you have a hot grill then you will love these bacon wraps. This is an activity than can be done while sitting around with family and friends.

Step 1: The Ingredients List

This is what you will need

1 large yellow onion

4 cheese sticks

1 can of pineapple rings

1 package of bacon

Step 2: Putting Together Your Onion Bacon Wrap

Cut your onion like you are making onion rings. Carefully separate the rings and set aside. Save your best four onions rings. Tear open a cheese stick and split it down the middle. Take 1/2 of the cheese stick and place it inside of the onion one side. Take the other 1/2 of the remaining cheese stick and place that on the other side of the onion.

Place the pineapple on top of the onion with the cheese stick in it. Then open up the packet of bacon and take out one strip and start to wrap the bacon around the onion with the cheese and pineapple. Continue this until the bacon is covered. Repeat this 3 more times and set aside. Sprinkle the bacon appetizers with your favorite bbq rub.

Step 3: Step 3: Place the Bacon Wraps on a Hot Indirect Grill

Place the bacon wraps and place it on a hot indirect grill. I love it when I can smell the smoked bacon getting toasty from the grill. Cook for 30 minutes at 400F. Take them off the grill after cooking and let them cool for 5 minutes and then cut and serve. Serve the bacon wheels with marinara sauce. We found this recipe on slapyodaddybbq. We trimmed the recipe down to four rings instead of eight. You will be the hit of your next backyard bbq.

Well played good sir. I am somewhat of a Dr Baconstien myself. Check it out

https://www.instructables.com/member/crapsoup/?show=INSTRUCTABLES

Did I Read That Right ?? XD

Going to have to try this on the smoker this Sunday :) Fantastic Idea!

Hope to see more !

I wonder if pineapple and onion together produces a fantasia?

The cheese melted quite a bit while cooking.

I think it would be a lot simpler to cut it into bite size pieces before adding the bacon.

It would be faster and simpler to wrap each bite 1 slice of bacon, cut into 2 pieces with each piece wraped in opposite directions (crosswise ro each other) I am going to try it before the whole deal as the bacon wrap looked messy and complicated.

I tried it and it's the best! This is going to be my New Year special! Thanks for sharing!

YUM!!!!!

Travis Cassity is now making enough for the whole world to consume

Looks great! We'll try it with a broiler next time we're having something.

I want to make a "YouTube videos" instructable now. You're a great inspiration!

Sharpen that knife before you hurt yourself !! Please?

@hazlett Just used the nearest knife. Will grab a sharp one next time. Thanks for stopping by.
Cool. I neglected to say how great those rings look. Bacon is my favorite fruit.

Sharpen that knife before you hurt yourself !! Please?

@matta26 yes I said this recipe was inspired by slapyodaddybbq on my main website golderbbq.com but not on this site. I though it was on the link already I will will add it. Thanks for stopping by.

Nice instructable but this was Harry Soo's creation, he has had the recipe and instructions online a while now. Give the man a shout out!

http://www.slapyodaddybbq.com/2014/05/bacon-wrapped-pineapple-mozzarella-rings-2/

Can anyone recommend a good way to cook these for apartment-dwellers who lack a grill?

@JustinF2 yeah you will need a grill for this. When we lived in an apartment we just had to go to common area and set up a grill. It would be worth it.

no, a grill is not needed for this....if you own an oven and it has a broiler, that will also work. As a matter of fact, it works better than doing it on a grill. My family has been making these for years. They are great for Hawaiian parties. Try covering them with a mixture of chili powder and brown sugar. YUM YUM YUM!

One question... Have you tried throwing one of these on a burger yet? :)
I can't imagine it being anything less than Epic.

This is a great instructable and I can't wait to try it!

@doglover1355 thank you so much for stopping by. We love making them.

we did the bacon onions

just not the pineapples yet

@SparkySolar how did that come out?

mmmmmmm bacon

@Named Johnny We love bacon too. Thank you for checking us out.

do you need to use the onion or is that a personal choice? I'm not a fan of onion but the rest of that sounds amazing.

@molsen16 you should give it a try with the onion. I don't care for onions either but you can't taste it in the recipe. I have not found any other ways to make this without the onion yet.

Those look awesome, anything wrapped in bacon has to to be good. Going to have to give your recipe a shot, thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for this nice Instructable.

Rima

@SparkySolar you are so welcome. I wanted it to become easy for someone to make the bacon wraps themselves. Thanks for stopping by
