Introduction: Baked S'mores

These s’mores are quick and easy to make in the convenience of your kitchen. With this simple recipe, you can make a batch of s’mores all at once in about 15 minutes. The ingredients cost less than $10 and require very little baking skill. You only need to know how to use an oven.

Caution: When working with the oven, be careful not to burn yourself. Use an oven mit and let the finished s’mores cool before moving or consuming them.

Step 1: Supplies and Ingredients

Supplies:

Baking sheet
Aluminum foil
Spatula

Ingredients:

Graham crackers (1 graham cracker per s’more)
Hershey’s milk chocolate bar (1 bar makes 4 s’mores)
Marshmallows

Step 2: Preparation

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Line the baking sheet with aluminum foil.

Break up the graham crackers into equal halves and set these aside for now.

Break up the chocolate bars into four equal pieces. Set the chocolate aside, you won't need it until after the baking.

Step 3: Assembly

For each s’more you wish to bake, place one graham cracker half on the baking sheet. Leave at least a half inch of space between the graham cracker halves.

Place one marshmallow in the center of each graham cracker half, with a flat side of the marshmallow touching the graham cracker. This will keep the marshmallows stable.

Step 4: Baking

Once the oven is heated to 400°F, place the baking sheet on the center rack.

Bake for 3-5 minutes, until the marshmallows start to become golden brown on top. They cook quickly so keep a close watch on them, or check them every minute to prevent burning. The graham crackers can also burn if left in the oven for too long.

Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven using an oven mit.

Step 5: Completion

Immediately after removing the baking sheet from the oven, place one piece of chocolate on top of each marshmallow, pressing down gently into the marshmallow.

Next, place half a graham cracker on top of each piece of chocolate, pressing down gently.

Allow the s’mores to sit for 1-2 minutes so that the chocolate can melt completely.

Step 6: Enjoy!

Using a spatula, remove the s’mores from the baking sheet and place them on a plate. The s'mores may still be hot, so be careful not to burn yourself. Enjoy!
