Bamboo Spear Gun

O.K.... This is my first instructable so be nice!! < ^_ >

Has your yard ever been attacked by birds? Or that annoying stranger keeps coming to your house to ask for money? well say goodbye to those minor but annoying problems!!! Threaten them with a spear gun!!!! Theyll never come back!! ( seriousely... My yard was overtaken by birds so i took out handy dandy bamboo spear gun and shot some warning shots, missing intentionally, and they never came back!!!!!! HOORAY!!!!!!)

Its very cheap and VVVEEERRRYYY strong!!!!!!!!! Yay! dangerouse fun!

Step 1: Supplies!!

O.K. heres what you need:
11" long 1/2" diameter bamboo/pvc tubing
nylon cord
super glue(optional)
tape measure
scissors
fishing line
saw(i only used it to score the bamboo, farther in instructable)
lighter
big strong rubberband thats at least 8" long when cut into 1 long band(I used the moon shoes rubberband)

Step 2: Score!

So you have the bamboo/pvc tube that is around 1/2" in diameter. What do you do with it now? Score it! make a big but shallow score 8" up the tube. This will be a "sort of handle" for the fishing line to hang on to when you tie on the rubberband later.

Step 3: Tie!!

Now tie the rubber band on to the score line. First wrap the fishing line about 5-6 times IN the score(this is only so the rubberband doesnt slip down during use)then using the same strand of fishing line an tie on one side, wrapping it 5-6 times also, then the other side of the rubberband. Tie tightly! then super glue(optional)

P.S. i ran out of rubberbands for the pic so i used a back pack strap. Lets just call it a rubberband. Its just a pic. As long as YOU use a rubberband its fine. < ^_ >

Step 4: Handle

Next, take the nylon cord and start wrapping tightly from the score point to an inch or so away from the end of the bamboo/pvc pipe. super glue to keep it from unraveling, or melt the end, or both!!! < ^_ >

P.S. dont place your hand in front of the tube when shooting, for it will probably GO THROUGH YOUR HAND!!!!

Step 5: Shooting!!

To shoot simly load anything straight that will fit in the tube, pull the rubberband back, let go of the rubberband, an watch in amazement!!! < ^_ >
