A few days ago I stumbled upon a more secure way to store a Password using a batch file. When it encodes the letters even the same letters aren't the same 40 digit string making it more secure.

For those of you who don't know how to use a batch file hit the start button type notepad.exe and open it up paste the code in step 2 into it an save it with the name anything.bat

Step 1: The Code

@echo off
:begin
cls
echo ________________________________________________________________________________
echo Crypt - Text Encryptor/Decryptor by Sean Dobson
echo ________________________________________________________________________________
set /p command=Encrypt or Decrypt? (e/d):
if %command%==e goto ENC
if %command%==d goto DEC
goto MenuError

echo ERROR: %command% is an invalid option
pause

Step 2: Conclusion

This script is NOT mine I am just sharing it with you so here is the original link: http://www.dostips.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1493

If you like batch codes see my full screen matrix here: https://www.instructables.com/id/Full-screen-batch-matrix/

Happy coding!
<p>bro how do you open the files?</p>
<p>what files</p>
<p>Well, there are quite some encryption algorithms out there which, at the time of responding, can guarantee relative safety. I haven't tried to understand your code in detail, but it rather looks like a Cesar's code. So for a fun project your algorithm is nice. But encrypting sensitive data this way is not recommended. It will take less than a second to decode the source. </p>
<p>I agree it's not secure but if your just hiding text from someone who doesn't really know what their doing it works.</p>
<p>There's another smart and not too complicated way to hide passwords. In JPEGs you can replace certain parts by anything while the image will not change in a way it can be recognized (certain pixels might appear to be dust covered or blurry, but not markably). Now you have (usually) lots of photos so you can decide which one to take. Simply replace those fixed areas with what is the encoded password. Finding the right picture to decode the password is not that easy (if you manage to preserve the modification date, which is also not too difficult) for someone else but you.</p>
<p>If people are looking for it it is still in plain text making it easier to find though.</p>
<p>how would you go about changing these parts of the photo?</p>
