Today I will be showing you how to make a Batmobile IPhone charging dock. It's fairly simple and shouldn't take more than a day to make. So, let's get started.
Step 1: Materials
To make this you will need...
- An IPhone or and IPod touch to charge
- An IPhone charging cable
- JB Weld
- A Lego Batmobile(I got mine from a Lego set)
- Miscellaneous Lego bricks(such as tiles, 2x1's, ect.)
Step 2: Gut the Batmobile
I started by removing the steering wheel and seat. While doing this you may need some extra pieces for support and might have to move things around to get your iPhone to fit. Once you've got everything out and your phone fits well, put some tiles on the bottom so that there is a surface to put the JB Weld onto.
Step 3: Adding the Charger Hole
After gutting the Batmobile we still need a place to put the charger. So, remove the flat brick in the middle which opens up a hole to thread the USB cable through. After that put some tiles on the bottom so that there is a surface to put the JB Weld onto.
Step 4: Gluing!
Now that the Batmobile is ready we need to glue in the cable. Unfortunately I was out of 'Kragle' so instead I used JB weld which works just as well. For the JB Weld you will need to mix up equal parts of both the hardener and the steel. After mixing it thoroughly use a popsicle stick to put it on the bottom of the charger and stick it down to the tiles. To hold it in place while it dries fill in the gap with play dough and let it sit over night.
Step 5: Finished
Now you can enjoy your brand new IPhone charger and show it off to your friends! Hope you enjoyed this instructable. Peace out.
P.S.-For me the JB Weld failed the first go around so you may need to add structural supports to the sides to the charger to prevent that.
