Bay Area Maker Faire 2010

Maker Faire is the chance for makers and shakers from all around to get together and show off some of their awesome creations. Not surprisingly, you can find many awesome Instructables projects at the Faire. Collected here is a small sample of the projects that you can see in person at this year's Bay Area Maker Faire. The Secret Knock Detecting Lock has been repurposed into a Secret Knock Detecting Gumball machine. (Guess the secret knock and get a gumball!) I'ts all acrylic so you can see how everything works.

I'll be at booth 167 in the Expo Hall to answer any questions.

(I'll also be teaching a few lucky people to build the Pocket Drunken Robots and you'll be able to play against my Rock Paper Scissors Playing Glove.)

No 'Ible for this one, but it is in issue #25 of Make: Magazine.

I know it's not convent as an 'ible, but on the up side it's been fact checked and then built by an intern.

Got my 'geek gear' all ready and can't wait to go see this year's awesome faire, went last year and it was absolutely awesome and had a great time so this year I am bringing along a few friends also! I'll make sure to stop by the instructables booth and say hello to everyone, will you guys be in the same building as last year?

Oh, and does anyone know if the UC Santa cruz group is doing the tesla coil demo this year? I want to know, because supposedly my awesome physics teacher (Stuart Briber) is usually with that group and he doesn't know if they're doing it this year.
