Previously, when people needed anonymity in photos, you have to pixellate their faces. Now, with Kiteman's Unique Pixellation Indication Device (K.U.P.I.D.) you don't need to.

Step 1: Background.

Computer-based pixellation lowers the resolution of digital images, merging details and averaging tonal data to render individual features unrecognisable.

But haven't you ever suspected that some clever bugger somewhere could undo it? We've all seen those spy films where they keep enhancing passport-sized photos until they can see the faces of people reflected in the subject's pupils...

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but K.U.P.I.D. is a guaranteed barrier to such processes.

Step 2: Materials and Equipment.

Construction of K.U.P.I.D. you require:

> Access to a PC and printer (which you already have, or you wouldn't be reading this, would you?)

> Sticky stuff.

> A sharp thing.

> A head-sized box.

Step 3: The Secret.

The secret to the process is to present the camera with pixels that cannot be resolved into finer detail, by printing your own.

Use the graphic software of your choice to produce a pattern of randomly-tinted blocks, and print it out several times.

Step 4: Construction.

Print several copies of your chosen pixellation, and glue them all over the box.

Now the trick:

Put the box on your head!

That's it, you're done. Nobody can tell who you are, no matter how sophisticated their software.

What do you mean, you can't see?

That's what the Sharp Thing is for - poke holes level with your eyes (but please, remember to take the box off before you start sticking Sharp Things into it at eye-level...
<em>Pixel</em> merchandise is <a href="http://www.cafepress.co.uk/complete_kiteman/7901026">now available</a>!
Of course, put the warning of the Sharp Things AFTER you tell me to poke holes!! Now one side of my box is all red and bloody...
I bet it still works, though!
I ran the image of the box through my software to depixelize it, and I came up with <a rel="nofollow" href="https://static2.instructables.com/pub/F2O/YUOP/F2OYUOP6ZTEV2Z7WCK.thumb.jpg">this</a>. I guess it doesn't work as well you you might think. :)<br/>
It's <strong>you</strong>! You're one of <strong>THEM</strong>!!<br/><br/>(<em>panicked footsteps fade rapidly into distance, accompanied by the sound of kitchen foil being wrapped hurridly around a head...)</em><br/>
Wow, added to my list of favourite things to say when I'm stoned!
Dude, you want to try <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.thegoonshow.net/">the Goon Show</a> for choice phrases...<br/>
LoL, dude.... KITEMAN SAID DUDE!!!
<em>More than two years ago!</em><br/>
Wow. Has it really been two years?! Wow...
I just checked - I made that comment three days before you joined the site...
:D I distinctly remember this ible coming out new - I think I may in fact have signed up just to comment on it...
You mean... <em>you're my fault?!?</em><br/>
I think I am...I was quite impressed and intimidated by you and your projects, and wished to know more. I read the site for months if not a year or more before joining. It's a bit hard to remember <em>preibles</em>, but I think you provided the impetus.<br/>
Gosh.<br/><br/>I'm... humbled.<br/><br/>Beats ego back into cage with big pointy stick.<br/>
Oh, you changed my life quite a bit! :D
Really? Gosh. Er... <br/><br/>Wow. That gives me such a warm feeling - thank you.<br/>
*loads helicopter with heat lamps* *hovers over Kiteman* does that give a warm feeling?
Yep, really.<br/><br/>Awww. Thanks for inspiring me to join!<br/><br/>&gt;Hug&lt;<br/>
&gt;Hugs back&lt;<br/><br/>
How dare you! (Don't worry twin, I'm just kidding, mostly.)
. <GASP!> You've created a monster!
<em>Cue maniacal laughter and the crackle of a Jacob's Ladder</em><br/>
Wahahahaha, I did the exact same thing...
Good grief, that was nearly a year and a half ago - are you trawling through <em>all</em> my comments? You can give a man a complex, you know.<br/>
Lol, no, I searched for something...I can't remember what, I think I searched for &quot;Goodhart&quot;, that may be it. Anyway, for some reason the keywords led me to this ible, and I happened to notice that comment!<br/><br/>I'm not <em>that</em> crazy...;)<br/>
&quot;I'm not that crazy...;)&quot; That's what <em>ALL</em> the stalkers say. :)<br/>
I am not a stalker! It was a coinc-i-dinc!
Um, you were searching for <em>Goodhart</em> ? LOL <br/>
Is that an admission then? Since you wrote to Kiteman that you came across his post while looking for me ;-) I came across this because Kiteman pointed me here....
I really don't remember, it's been so long ago...if I said it, I must have been! I was probably searching for your comments, this was before I figured out just clicking on people's names and going to profiles. :D
&quot;(<em>panicked footsteps fade rapidly into distance, accompanied by the sound of kitchen foil being wrapped hurridly around a head...)&quot;<br /> &nbsp;CORRECTION<br /> (panicked foorsteps fade rapidly into distance, accompanied by the sound of reloading heavy weaponry and packing loads of money in a suitcase)<br /> note: I&nbsp;CAN'T&nbsp;TURN&nbsp;ITALIC&nbsp;OFF&nbsp;HELP&nbsp;ME<br /> </em>
Too bad "we" swapped your kitchen foil for "our" "psychic foil"! BWAH-HA-HA-HA! (Besides, I've heard the foil bras work better.)
who do you think you are?
I think I'm Kiteman. Who do you think you are?
This made me laugh so hard...
Why don't TV doccumentary crews use this? Maybe it's some heath & safety thing... If anyone's interested in this type of pixellation, let me know (it's very easy):
Why not just photoshop a black(or white) box over your head?
<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.instructables.com/id/How_to_Pixellate_Images_Easily/">Pixellation</a> is a specific effect, that obscures detail but leaves the picture looking not much different.<br/><br/>L<br/>
They didn't do a good job on that face did they? lol (just move your head back from the screen haha)
I made <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.instructables.com/id/How_to_Pixellate_Images_Easily/">an Instructable for this</a><br/><br/>L<br/>
Oh you did that, I thought you meant that was on TV lol well you should make it a little more pixelated IMO
Im Interested
Kiteman, you are just cuter than a bug.* :)<br/><br/><em>*genuine &quot;down-home&quot;-type American vernacular expression genuinely connoting genuine cuteness.</em><br/>
Er, thank you?
ROFLMAO... Great one! =D<br/>
