Just about one out of every three bites of food you eat comes to you courtesy of bees. In recent years, honey bee colonies have been collapsing at an alarming rate due largely to the fountain of toxic pesticides being pumped onto our crops. If the bees disappear, say goodbye to the berries, nuts, avocados, and many other colorful fruits and vegetables that make up the healthiest parts of our diet.

Starting May 5, we'll be running a Made By Bees Contest with Earthjustice to raise awareness about dwindling bee populations and why they're so important to us!

Earthjustice is a non-profit environmental law organization that is representing beekeepers in court to reverse the approval of sulfoxaflor, a pesticide highly toxic to our pollinators. Earthjustice uses the law to protect honeybees and is bringing attention to this issue through the Made By Bees Contest. Share your recipes, crafts, and other projects that wouldn’t be possible without honey bees.
