Introduction: Beef Goulash

This savory stew is A Hungarian classic whose main ingredients consist of beef, tomato, onion and paprika. This recipe takes about 35 minutes to prepare. Enjoy!

Step 1: Ingredients

Note: Adult supervision required for this resipe. To make this meal, you will need the following ingredients: (1) A 1lb. 2 oz. round steak. (2) 1 small onion. (3) 3 small tomatoes. (4) 4 tbsps paprika. (5) 4 tbsps cooking oil. (6) 1 qt. beef broth. (7) 1 cup red wine. (8) 1/2 cup heavy cream. (9) 2 tsps lemon juice. (10) Salt (as required) (11) Black pepper (to taste) (12) Heavy cream (as required) (13) 2 tsps finely chopped Italian parsley.

Step 2: Utensils Needed

(1) Kitchen scale. (2) Measuring cups. (3) Measuring spoons. (4) Kitchen knife. (5) Cutting board. (6) Tongs. (7) Ladle. (8) wooden spoon. (9) Frying pan (with lid)

Step 3: Chopping...

You'll need: (1) Cutting board. (2) Kitchen knife. First, peel the onion. Thinly slice the peeled onion, cutting lengthwise root to stem. Cut each tomato into roughly 3/4" pieces. Cut the beef into roughly 1 1/4" pieces. Season the beef by sprinkling some salt and pepper over it.

Step 4: Cooking...

You'll need: (1) A frying pan (with lid) (2) Dish. Heat the cooking oil in the frying pan. Sauté the beef over high heat until the entire surface of the beef is browned. Once the beef is browned, transfer it to A dish. Add the onion to the same frying pan with A pinch of salt and sauté it over moderate heat. Add the tomato and sauté it gently, stirring it in with the onion. Sprinkle the paprika over the onion and tomato and continue to sauté, stirring to coat them evenly.Don't cook for to long, as the ingredients might burn. Pour in the red wine and bring it to A boil to cook off the alcohol. Add the stock and bring the mix back to A boil. Skim off any foam as the ingredients boil. Return the beef to the frying pan. Put the lid on the frying pan and simmer the beef for about 20 minutes over low heat. Add the cream. Season to taste with some salt and pepped. Stir in the lemon juice and continue to simmer for 2 minutes.

Step 5: Serving Time!

Transfer to serving dishes and add cream to taste. Garnish with finely chopped Italian parsley and its ready to eat!
