It's finished. You now have a book safe you can be proud to hide your "stash" in. No more embarrassing looks when your mom finds your stuff in a crappy looking book safe.
Nice one mate. Was planning on doing something like this with a book on, business statistics or some rubbish, to put my netbook in when I travel through crazier places like south america or simply for the fun of having your netbook inside such an awesome cover - but taking the pages out and using a bandsaw, i never thought of that - brilliant.
Very nice to have instructions on making a professional book stash. When i did mine i used a box cutter & elmer's glue. inside looks like a badger got ahold of it.
i was hoping for the cover, a 2nd cover with a dial and THEN the compartment... but i guess it'd be too complicated...... P.S: man, my head is shooting off ideas!!
Lol same, then i forget them all or they don't work and i get frustrated. Maybe you could cut sheet metal and rivet it in a box shape with the same dimensions as inside the book, then put a hinge on the front, drill two holes, one on the opposite side of the sheet metal the hinge is on, and one next to it on the other peice, and put a padlock or a combination lock on it ( you might need to cut more of the book away for some space for the padlock)
lol this is classic although I would do it if I could get a book lol and do the pages still turn and I suggest putting a little bit of foam on the wall of the book so you don hear anything rattling
