Bic pen led Lightsaber

video Bic pen led Lightsaber
A easy led project I made in about an hour. All that light is from one led!
I would have posted an Instructable but I forgot to take pictures while I was making the lightsaber. The It is basically just a led in a tube with a three volt coin battery and a switch. It looks really cool though.

How do you get a 3 volt coin cell into a bic pen? Do you just tape it to the outside?
porkisgreat (author) in reply to Zippy_PyromaniacJan 20, 2009. 4:25 AM
It was just taped to + and - wires outside the bic pen. It was a really sketchy connection though... Be creative this video isn't the only way to do it, it was more to give people an idea. Use a AA battery holder, use a 9 volt with a resistor, use a blue led, and be creative. If you have no idea what I'm talking about check out the instructable led's for beginners. It was really helpful for me when I was just starting out in electronics.

Badger man has it almost completely right, you can't see it in the video but there is actually a switch at the bottom of the pen. It only took me about 20min. And to hold it all together I just e-taped the bottom.

hollow out a frosted pen tube, stick a bright red led in one end, and get a 3v coin battery, not that hard...

And...how do you make it
