Big Sturdy Loft

Step 23Shameless plug

Shameless plug
I hope you liked this instructable. If you like this, or other instructables that I've done, email me to let me know at enjrolas@mit.edu
Also, (this is the shameless bit) you should check out some of the project kits I'm selling at http://www.artiswrong.com/kits
This is something I started to support my building habit. I'll be adding more kits as time goes on. In general, I spend every penny I make on projects (or traveling to cool places), and if you help me out by giving me more pennies, you'll get a kit (duh) and also more cool projects in the future, which I'm very happy to post on instructables for your building pleasure.
Maybe I'm way off base here. If so, email me and tell me that, too.

Happy happy,
Alex

nice instructable. I have made numerous lofts, and all of them go something like what you have done. I usually make them to fit the space I have. Often times you can get plywood cut into smaller pieces for transport and that takes good planning so you know what size you'll need. I always use more 2x4 supports than what you did-- especially if the loft will be used by kids. I even use only 2x4's and no plywood when the 2x4's are on good sale. I have also made lofts of 2x6 lumber and I prefer those. They cost more, but are much sturdier. Yes, it is common for lumber to be actually less than the size advertised.
